12/10/2025: I visited Washoku Kyo Chinese & Japanese Restaurant in San Giovanni Rotondo, and overall my experience was positive. The restaurant is clean, tidy, and has a quiet atmosphere, ideal for both those seeking a relaxing dinner and those looking for something different. The decor is simple but elegant, and the tables are well-spaced, allowing for comfortable dining.
The sushi was a pleasant surprise: fresh, good quality, and traditionally prepared, without overdoing it with sauces or superfluous ingredients. I also really appreciated the variety of the menu, which offers both Japanese and Chinese cuisine, with beautifully presented dishes and appropriate portions. The flavors were also balanced and well-cooked.
The only negative aspect of the evening was the slow service: we had to wait longer than expected between courses, and it also took a while to receive the bill. Nothing dramatic, but there is certainly room for improvement in the organization of the dining room. Also, it's a shame they ran out of Chinese bread, which I would have liked to order because it's one of my favorites when I go to Asian restaurants.
In conclusion, I can say this restaurant deserves four stars: the food quality is very good, the prices are average, and the staff is friendly, though service is a bit slow. I'll gladly return, hoping to try the famous Chinese bread next time.
12/10/2025: I was disappointed.
Paper menus were worn and incomprehensible.
Selection limited to very few dishes.
Ordering on a plain notepad.
Slow service.
Food was unsightly.
The place was also nice, but the smell of Chinese food was strong.
The icing on the cake was the broken POS.
Not recommended.
