Varenna Food is a great place to drop in for coffee and pastry in the morning. They also do an excellent yoghurt, granola and fruit bowl.

Good little market conveniently located in town :) got a bottle of wine and a loaf of bread to take back to the Airbnb. Obviously more expensive then Aldi or Lidl given the location and quality of products in this market. Wine selection was nicely labeled.

We were here at least 12 times in 4 days 😂 great atmosphere, nice service, delicious drinks for €5, but I was most pleased with the service of two guys (unfortunately I don't know their names) who approach their work with joy and are incredibly nice! Best regards and I recommend this place 👌🇮🇹

The only place where you find any kind of spritz, i find the pink spritz only 6€ first time in my life 🥰 very refreshing nice test. I hope to be back soon.

I ask for a Panini Caprese and a Caffe doppio, it was the first best coffee I had in my trip, and a really double shot! Perfect! Price worth it!

02/05/2025: Sempre una sicurezza. El Mercante non sbaglia mai, da anni lo frequento. Vivamente consiglio una visita. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.
07/04/2025: porzioni veramente abbondanti; mi riferisco ai primi dove la porzione per uno puo' essere tranquillamente per 2. ho preso le tagliatelle col sugo di brasato (c'era dentro anche il brasato :) ) e l'aggiunta della cannella era fantastica. anche gli antipasti ottimi. servizio veloce e gentile.

10/08/2025: siamo stati accolti calorosamente dal propietario .un posto pulito ordinato nei minimi particolari.piscina ultrapulita e ambiente rilassante e tranquillo.personale e staff gentile e disponibile.cucina voto 10 da tornarci assolutissimamente. per nn parlare dei pini e degli alberi secolari che danno pace e fresco in queste giornate africane. mose’&lucia
04/08/2025: In June of this year, I decided to take a road trip through Italy. I drove through Venice, Florence, and Rome, and then on to Sicily. On the way back, I stopped near Lake Como, in a town called Varenna. And it was here, and not in Rome, that I ate the best carbonara of my life! I was so surprised by how good it was that I asked if the chef was from Rome, and to my surprise, he wasn't. His name was Saro, and he was so nice that he even let me try his involtini 🙂 If you ever pass by Lido Olivedo in Varenna, don't miss this opportunity to sample his delicious cuisine!
