Naif In Palermo

I've been several times and can say that the food is always top-notch. Excellent service, and a cold glass of beer is a real treat... Magnificent. The only downside is the high cover charge... Pasienza, but worth it.

Friendly and helpful staff. I personally think the pizza dough needs a longer leavening period to improve digestibility, considering the prices. The benches are a bit uncomfortable for leg posture, but that depends on your height.

Great Food, Warm Staff — But Disappointing Ending Ristorante Pizzeria Naïf could have been one of the best dining experiences I had in Palermo if not for the owner and insect in the red wine. The gnocchi was absolutely delicious— Gnocchi with tomato and mozzarella was pillowy soft and coated in a rich, flavorful sauce that truly stole the show. That dish alone made the visit worthwhile. We also had a fresh salad that was vibrant, crisp, and thoughtfully prepared—not the afterthought you sometimes get elsewhere. The Margherita pizza was also good, with a nicely balanced crust. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the waiter staff were genuinely kind and attentive throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the overall experience was dampened by a few issues that happened after the meal. After we paid our bill, we ordered two shots of limoncello as a digestivo—something that is often offered on the house in many Italian restaurants, especially after a full meal. Instead, we were surprised to see we were charged for two caffè amari, which we didn’t order. It felt a bit dishonest, especially since we were expecting a small gesture, not an upcharge from the owner! On top of that, the red wine we originally ordered had to be sent back due to several flies or mosquitoes—about six—in the glass. The staff handled the situation politely, but it was still an unpleasant surprise. In short: the food and the waiter service were great, but the actions of the owner and the final moments of our visit left a sour note on what could have been a perfect dining experience.
