A pearl among the sestieri! 🌟 If you are around Venice and are looking for an authentic, welcoming place with a cuisine that conquers, write down this name: Al Muro ai Frari. We are a stone's throw from the majestic Basilica dei Frari and a few minutes from Campo San Polo, in a quiet but strategic area. A real gem for those who want to eat well while avoiding the usual tourist places! 🍹 Aperitif with style We arrived shortly after the evening opening and inaugurated the evening with an aperitif. I followed the waiter's advice and had a Rum and Cola made to perfection (perfect dosage, strong and fresh flavor). My friend chose a Spritz Select, the Venetian alternative to the more famous Aperol. Both promoted with flying colors! 🍕 Customized pizza? Yes, please! I wanted pizza, but not just any pizza. So I asked to make a custom one with buffalo mozzarella, raw ham and porcini mushrooms. The result? Divine. The dough was light, well leavened, and perfectly cooked. Every bite melted in your mouth! 🍽️ Venetian tradition on a plate My friend started with a classic: stewed cod with polenta. Soft, tasty, Venetian comfort food done properly. Then she continued with spaghetti with squid ink, which I gladly tried: tasty, creamy and not at all heavy. All cooked with care. 🍰 Perfect ending: the house tiramisu I couldn't have ended better. The tiramisu was a perfect balance between creaminess and the strong taste of coffee and cocoa. Classic, without frills, but done properly. 🏡 A welcoming place, even for locals The interior is modern and well-kept, with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The place was also frequented by several Venetians — always a positive sign! It had also been recommended to us by various shopkeepers in the area, and now I understand why. 💰 Honest prices (especially for Venice!) More than fair value for money. I went to dinner with my partner, we are both blind, the staff was welcoming and very kind in helping us with the menu and understanding where the various dishes were positioned on the table. They helped us choose really excellent drinks. I chose to try fish while my more traditional partner ate an excellent pizza. Highly recommended

Food was alright. Expected more from this place but somehow the food lacked depth and flavour. Service and the setting was good.

Superb cuisine, very good meat, super tender, and the staff is super pleasant, especially with the customers.

My lunch stop as I roamed the streets from Academia Bridge round to Rialto. Very tasty, lightly fried vegetables and an antipasti platter. All of it was tasty and helped on its way by an Aperol Spritz.
