Murataya Trattoria Giapponese In Saronno

I've been frequenting Murataya for a while, and for me, it's one of Saronno's go-to places for authentic Japanese cuisine. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and the quality is immediately apparent, especially in the sushi and sashimi, which are prepared with great precision and respect for the ingredients. I recently had the opportunity to attend a Ramen evening, and I must say it was an extraordinary surprise: the broth was deep and rich in umami, perfectly balanced, one of the best I've ever tried. The ambiance is refined, the atmosphere is calm, and the service is always attentive. This is a place I continue to recommend to anyone looking for a true Japanese cuisine experience in the area.

Didn't live up to expectations. I was intrigued by the high reviews, but unfortunately I was disappointed. The restaurant presents itself as an authentic, high-end Japanese restaurant. The decor is elegant and the service excellent, but we're disappointed by the food. I had a California roll, and the salmon was a bit bland. The sushi selection is very basic and international, with a marked lack of nigiri and more authentic rolls. The gyudon was also good, though. It had beef stew, but unfortunately, it's nothing like a real gyudon. A little less good was the barking dog in the kitchen.

Family dinner a year after the previous visit, which was very positive. We immediately noticed the increase in seating capacity, and the service, despite its best efforts, has suffered significantly. Prices are higher than a year ago. The food is still good, but overall the experience is less positive. Something absolutely needs to be done about the front door, which stays open and lets in cold air in during the winter.

Very nice place, great service and excellent food.

A Japanese restaurant with a very original and distinctive atmosphere, offering traditional dishes of the highest quality. The ingredients are excellent and carefully crafted by the chef, who manages to combine fish, rice, and marinated vegetables in a way that allows all the flavors to be recognized. For appetizers, I highly recommend the tofu with seaweed and the homemade takpyaki (delicious). The rolls are large but packed with seafood; I think it's worth trying at least three; we also asked for one "as the chef wishes," and he surprised us with a roll with Mediterranean tuna—incredible. The cooked fish dishes are also delicious; ask for the tuna belly, tender as butter. The only two downsides, if I must say so, were the potato gnocchi, which didn't really resonate with me, and the desserts, which were actually good but definitely not up to par with everything else. The quality/price ratio is absolutely fair; this place is truly worth it!

What a wonderful experience! The atmosphere and setting were truly beautiful and themed. A special thanks to the staff, who were very friendly and cheerful, especially the young lady (Ste), and super helpful! The food was truly delicious: carefully prepared, tasty, and beautifully presented dishes, you could taste the quality, everything was excellent! Definitely a place to return to!

I come to this restaurant often and have always had a great experience. The quality of the food is high, and you can sense the care and passion in the kitchen and the service. Yesterday, I ate well, as always. This time, however, I booked last-minute and ate at the counter. I fully understand that, without a reservation in advance, you might end up sitting there, and I have no problem with that. In fact, it's a comfortable place. Unfortunately, however, the counter was quite dirty. It wasn't just a few crumbs in one corner, but crumbs scattered all over the surface. Furthermore, there was dust and residue among the wines on the counter, which made the experience less pleasant. The soy sauce bottle was also dirty and greasy. These are minor details, of course, but when you're talking about a restaurant that maintains high standards and shows such care in its cuisine, I believe the attention to cleanliness of the countertops and accessories should also be consistent with that level.

The place was very crowded and a bit chaotic. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the dishes I tried. No one deserves a second chance.

Absolutely loved this sushi place! Amazing food and top-notch service. There was even a server who remembered us from earlier in our trip to Milan for the Olympics, which made it extra special. We went twice because it was so nice highly recommend if you’re in the area!
