22/11/2025: Azotea: A sensory journey between Peru and Japan (worth every penny)
I'd already been to Azotea for their aperitivo (the excellent 5 tapas + 1 cocktail for €30), but this time I wanted to up the ante and try the full dinner experience. And I can say with certainty: it was absolutely worth it.
The Concept: Qampaq
We chose the Qampaq menu, which in the Quechua language means "for you." It's an invitation to let yourself be guided, and we opted for two different options to sample more:
Chef's Fav (€50 for 3 dishes)
Meat (€50 for 3 dishes)
We also added the cocktail pairing (€25 for 3 drinks), an option I highly recommend. Azotea isn't just food; it's a true culinary journey that masterfully blends Peruvian and Japanese culture (Nikkei cuisine), creating unique and surprising flavors.
Impeccable Service
The added value of the venue is undoubtedly the staff: extremely kind and, above all, highly knowledgeable. Each dish and cocktail was explained to us in great detail, from composition to preparation, transforming the dinner into a cultural as well as a gastronomic experience.
The Grand Finale
Unsatisfied with all the wonders, we concluded with two desserts, each accompanied by their own dedicated drink pairing. A perfect end to a high-quality evening.
Conclusion
The venue is elegant and the atmosphere is refined (reservations are required!). It's certainly not a cheap experience, but the quality of the ingredients, the sophisticated cocktails, and the expert service fully justify the price.
I will definitely return to explore the other dishes and creations at the bar. Highly recommended for those looking for a thrill, not just a dinner.
13/11/2025: I was there yesterday (Wednesday, during the week) for a couples' dinner. The atmosphere was truly unique; we sat in the small room, which gave it a touch of intimacy. The service was excellent, from the moment we entered the restaurant with a warm welcome and a selection of welcome appetizers. They were excellent at explaining each dish and cocktail step by step, and the timing between courses was perfect. We chose two Qampaq + Cocktail pairing menus, with the Azotea signature and Onda menus. The portions were limited but had unique flavors, compliments to the kitchen... the cocktails were probably the best I've had in Turin, and they paired excellently with the dishes, with a delightful interplay of flavors that lingered in the mouth between eating and drinking. The smokiness of the Negroni was spectacular, further enhanced by citrus flavors, echoing the smokiness of the grilled octopus. The cheesecake was delicious, where what looked like a blackberry was actually the cheese part of the dessert. A pleasant evening.
