MooKuzai In Milano

At this restaurant, where we booked a table in advance, we completely entrusted ourselves to the chef, using the "omakase" approach, which involves preparing dishes and side dishes of his choosing, based on the finest ingredients available. The meal is explained in detail from the initial contact stage, and everything is then promptly prepared and delivered to the customer for consumption, resulting in a remarkable culinary experience. For us, it was such a positive experience that we booked dinner for six people the following Saturday evening. Parking is easy to find.

Omakase in Japanese literally means "I entrust myself to you" or "I leave it to you." And every time, we trust Michele and his staff, who are organized and quick to serve us, allowing us to experience sensory-rich dishes made with wild, not farmed, fish (a whole new flavor!) and top-notch ingredients. If you're a fan of "all you can eat," forget it; you're missing out on authentic Japan!

INCREDIBLE. We had the tasting menu, and to say it amazed us would be an understatement. New and intense flavors that highlighted the high-quality fish. The owner also conveys the passion and history behind each dish. Plus, the quality/price ratio is exceptional.

I found this place by chance online; I stopped in for lunch, intrigued by other positive reviews. The food quality is excellent; it's extremely rare to find restaurants serving fish caught in the Milan area, and even rarer to find someone who knows how to value it while respecting and honoring Japanese food culture, while also innovating the look and flavors of even traditional dishes. The place itself is very well-kept; perhaps the music was a little too loud for my taste, but I think it was set for when the place is busier (I was the only one there). The owner, Michele, is a wonderful person, very kind and available both to explain the dishes and their history, and to answer any questions I might have. He repeatedly told me that if I didn't like a dish, he'd offer something else, but I really appreciated the entire selection of dishes he offered. My overall impression is that of having lunch at a friend's house, and I believe that was precisely Mookuzai's intention. The price is completely in line with the portion size and food quality.

I've been going there for years and it's always fantastic. A Japanese experience unlike anything else in the Milanese market. Definitely worth a try. And if you invite someone over, you always make a great impression!

Impeccable venue and amazing food. We went for our anniversary and they treated us with kid gloves. Be wary of what others say. The owner is certainly a bit blunt; you might not like him, but you can tell he cares about his food and is very passionate about it.
