Monkey in The City In Milano

I had dinner here with my mother for my birthday. We arrived a little late due to a train delay and to our great surprise and pleasure Isabella and Pedro (the couple who run the restaurant) waited for us and kindly seated us. We ordered some delicious mojitos prepared by Isabella and the chef surprised us with dishes recommended directly by him, typical of Cuban cuisine. We drank and ate divinely and had the pleasure of chatting with Pedro and Isabella about the concept of the restaurant and Cuban tradition. Truly excellent quality and impeccable service. We can't wait to come back and recommend it to everyone!

I've been wanting to try Monkey In The City for a long time, and this time I didn't miss the opportunity! The place is furnished with great care, and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners Isa and Pedro do the same, and recommended the cocktails to us before even ordering the dishes: I highly recommend the excellent mojito that I drank (several times...) throughout the dinner, but at the table I was also able to taste other traditional cocktails with very original flavors that are very difficult to find outside of Cuba. Even for the dishes, you can choose between traditional meat and fish flavors: let the owners tempt you and suggest something, for my part I really appreciated the Pluma Iberica and the Picadillo alla Habanera. My only regret was not having tried the beautiful selection of rums to end the dinner: I'll save this experience for next time!

Dining at Monkey is like traveling through space and time to Cuba, an authentic and refined atmosphere and at the same time familiar... I am addicted to the corn baskets and their croquetas but also to the real dishes of the Cuban tradition... and do we want to talk about the cocktails?! Even a teetotaler could convert...!!! Thanks, top in everything!

My husband took me to dinner at this restaurant, which I knew had been on TV so I was very curious. I must say that my expectations were far exceeded: the place has a unique atmosphere and you immediately feel welcomed, the menu is so interesting that you want to try everything and there are also the cocktails that start the evening pleasantly and that accompany you throughout the dinner... and in an instant you feel transported to Cuba! Amazing Mojito, not to mention the Picanha, truly exceptional! Unfortunately there was no more room for dessert, without a doubt next time I won't do without it. Compliments to the owners for the original idea they had and how they realized it! I highly recommend.

Every time I go to Milan, Monkey is an essential stop! I hadn't been there for years (before COVID) but the place is always a guarantee, amazing cocktails, even better than I remembered them and the menu, even if changed, always offers Cuban delights that cannot be found anywhere else. The proposal is not touristy or fast food, as sometimes happens with other places that offer this type of cuisine, I would define it as a gourmet version and the place is beautiful, a radical chic setting that is striking and lends itself both to a romantic dinner and to a different aperitif. I highly recommend the corn baskets with ropa vieja because they are special as is the solomillo alla canchanchara, delicious and special. Concluding with the selection of rums is a gem! It's a shame I don't live in Milan to go there more often!! Familiar and welcoming atmosphere, Isabella and Pedro know how to welcome you into their home and make you spend a wonderful evening. Atmosphere, music, very pleasant staff and very good food. A bit expensive for the portions that arrive on the table. I recommend trying it though!

Serata rilassante con cibo eccezionale Consigliatissimo a tutti soprattutto agli amanti della buona cucina e dell’atmosfera! Servizio impeccabile e vini di livello ma soprattutto cordialita’ che rende la serata ineccepibile! Consigliata anche la degustazione di Rum ma sopratutto … i fagioli neri!!!! Adorooooo
