Monkey in The City In Milano

A small place (which I consider a plus) and very quaint. There were five of us, and we opted for various appetizers and five different cocktails (to try as many as possible). I'm not a cocktail fan at all, but it's amazing how I enjoyed them all, even the driest ones, which I tend to hate (the Mojito is out of this world). As for the food, it's truly good; simple ingredients create unique flavors. The simple rice served with it is addictive; the way they treat the meat (marinating, cooking) gives it an incredible flavor and a wonderful texture. The staff is incredibly kind, constantly checking (without being intrusive) that everything is fine. Highly recommended.

Monkey in the City.... Everything was spectacular, but the best part was the welcome from Isabella and Pedro, the owners of Monkey. We had the pleasure of a unique experience... I feel like giving you a piece of advice: don't just look at the menu, ask Isabella for advice; she'll know how to make this experience exceptional. We'll be back soon... Definitely.

It's always nice, especially in a city like Milan, to find places where you're welcomed and guided in an excellent way toward knowledge, even as a diner with no experience in the cuisine in question. It's wonderful to dine like this. You feel at home, but you're not at home. It's a new home. And I think this is the greatest goal restaurateurs and diners can aspire to. Thank you. Fabulous experience. Let the owners advise you on the dishes, but especially the cocktails—among the best I've tried. The rum afterward is highly recommended.

I had dinner here with my mother for my birthday. We arrived a little late due to a train delay and to our great surprise and pleasure Isabella and Pedro (the couple who run the restaurant) waited for us and kindly seated us. We ordered some delicious mojitos prepared by Isabella and the chef surprised us with dishes recommended directly by him, typical of Cuban cuisine. We drank and ate divinely and had the pleasure of chatting with Pedro and Isabella about the concept of the restaurant and Cuban tradition. Truly excellent quality and impeccable service. We can't wait to come back and recommend it to everyone!

I've been wanting to try Monkey In The City for a long time, and this time I didn't miss the opportunity! The place is furnished with great care, and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners Isa and Pedro do the same, and recommended the cocktails to us before even ordering the dishes: I highly recommend the excellent mojito that I drank (several times...) throughout the dinner, but at the table I was also able to taste other traditional cocktails with very original flavors that are very difficult to find outside of Cuba. Even for the dishes, you can choose between traditional meat and fish flavors: let the owners tempt you and suggest something, for my part I really appreciated the Pluma Iberica and the Picadillo alla Habanera. My only regret was not having tried the beautiful selection of rums to end the dinner: I'll save this experience for next time!

Dining at Monkey is like traveling through space and time to Cuba, an authentic and refined atmosphere and at the same time familiar... I am addicted to the corn baskets and their croquetas but also to the real dishes of the Cuban tradition... and do we want to talk about the cocktails?! Even a teetotaler could convert...!!!
