Mercato Orientale is a great place to soak up the Italian atmosphere. There are plenty of stalls selling regional products and a food court. I tried their small Italian sandwiches, coffee, plum tart, and tiramisu—everything was really good. A great place to sit, relax while sightseeing, and fill your belly 😉

Everything was very... Lots of people, lots of noise, lots of confusion, and above all, VERY EXPENSIVE. €12 for a plate of pre-cooked rice, €3.50 for a bottle of Coke—in that context, it seems way too much.

Excellent experience in a pleasantly renovated place. The market is closed on Sunday afternoons (except for the florist), but the restaurants are open. I finally got to shop there today. I'm very satisfied. Fresh produce that you can choose from different stalls. For example, I buy lettuce from one stall, tomatoes from another, and so on. The food stalls upstairs are disappointing. The quality is excellent, the quantity is limited, and the prices are outrageous. What a shame! You can load a card and use it multiple times.

17/06/2026: From the outside it looks almost like an olde worlde pub but open the door and you’re in a Charles dickens curiosity shop restaurant, walls brimming with hundreds of wine bottles, and tables covered in white linen with comfortable homely chairs to sit in. The maitre D was a darling and looked after us 3 girls very well. We all commented on how we felt as if we were almost eating at our stately home and being looked after by a wonder butler 🤣 Good food and wine but the atmosphere was my favourite thing. Grazie Mille we will 100% be back!
04/05/2026: A short weekend in Genoa. While walking, we noticed this restaurant. I have to say it's absolutely beautiful, and above all, the cuisine is meticulously prepared. Excellent food, truly superb. I highly recommend it.
