A really beautiful market hall in the heart of Genoa, still with typical local vendors and not so touristy. In the middle is a lovely and varied food court.

Mercato Orientale is a great place to soak up the Italian atmosphere. There are plenty of stalls selling regional products and a food court. I tried their small Italian sandwiches, coffee, plum tart, and tiramisu—everything was really good. A great place to sit, relax while sightseeing, and fill your belly 😉

Lots of people, lots of noise, lots of confusion, and above all, VERY EXPENSIVE.
€12 for a plate of pre-cooked rice, €3.50 for a bottle of Coke—in that context, it seems way too much.

Excellent experience in a pleasantly renovated place. The market is closed on Sunday afternoons (except for the florist), but the restaurants are open.
I finally got to shop there today. I'm very satisfied. Fresh produce that you can choose from different stalls. For example, I buy lettuce from one stall, tomatoes from another, and so on.
The food stalls upstairs are disappointing. The quality is excellent, the quantity is limited, and the prices are outrageous. What a shame! You can load a card and use it multiple times.
