Hotel Metropole is definitely one of the most luxurious properties in Taormina and probably the one with the best location. You are right in the center of the action among restaurants , shops, boutiques and bars. If you want to go to the beach it is just a 10 min drive away.

We stayed four nights at Hotel Metropole Taormina and were generously upgraded to a beautiful oceanfront suite, the view was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were the highlight: Lucia and Angelique at the front desk, Maria (tours), Enza at the bar, Peppino (Giuseppe Russo) in the restaurant, and Sebastiano from breakfast and (another) Sebastiano at dinner service all made us feel truly welcome. Maria’s complimentary tour is a must – thoughtful and full of fascinating history. However, this did not feel like a true luxury stay. Our room had a strong sewerage smell for the first two days, and the infinity pool, while stunning, is unheated and too cold to enjoy in late September. Breakfast was very stressful with my gluten- and dairy-free requirements. I was told incorrectly on Day 1 that our package didn’t include à la carte, re-explained my dietaries daily, and one morning waited over an hour for eggs (I appreciated Peppino’s attentiveness in trying to resolve!) Taormina itself was so crowded on the weekend it was almost impossible to walk the streets, and the noise made sleeping difficult. Do not expect a restful sleep. The charm of the city feels lost to over-tourism, I completely acknowledge I am part of that as a tourist myself. If, like us though, luxury 5 star vacations are something you have saved a long time and planned carefully expecting it to be a certain way… we’d recommend visiting for a day trip rather than staying multiple nights. Taormina is breathtakingly beautiful, but it is not relaxing. The Metropole is central and has some wonderful 5-star staff (named in this review), but the organisation/ establishment itself is not a 5 star experience. Overall, the views and the staff named are excellent, but the stay didn’t justify the very high price tag. If you go, book an ocean-view room, that’s the one thing that makes it worthwhile!

We stayed at this hotel. The location, the view, and the pool are definitely the unbeatable features of this venue; they make everything more special. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the service. The staff is friendly, but not particularly attentive, or rather, not for a 5-star hotel. The pool is managed by a single person who is constantly moving in and out, so sometimes you have to wait up to 10 minutes for a tablecloth, a drink, etc. The management of the loungers in the pool area is poor. People were putting tablecloths down at 9:00 in the morning to get seats, went off to do their own thing, and then came back hours later, and no one bothered to tell them that this kind of management is unethical. We returned at 3:00 in the morning. We were told the reception was open 24/7. Unfortunately, we rang repeatedly for 10 minutes, both at the main door and the service door, to no avail. At the last minute, when we were sure we'd be left out, they answered the phone and let us in. When we went up to our room to go to bed, we found a long hair between the sheets and the mattress cover. The rooms aren't the prettiest I've ever seen, but they are tastefully furnished and functional. They lack a full-length mirror, which I personally love having in my room. At breakfast, no one approached us to ask if we wanted coffee, cappuccino, or anything else. There wasn't a lot of continental selection, but what was available was very high quality—mostly Italian-style. As we left, they told us to go downstairs because the car was ready downstairs. When we got downstairs, we saw the car parked in the guest parking spaces, but we didn't know where the key was. Then, on the way there, we remembered where the valet had "hidden" it, but no one had told us. I would definitely return for the view, the good, quality food, although the pool area service was a bit slow, and the overall management of the facility in terms of quality and customer service could, in my opinion, be improved.

Best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The food is beautiful, the location is truly immense and I can’t praise the staff enough - they are just wonderful. The view, pool and water temperature were just unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back

I stayed for four days in May 2025 and had the best experience imaginable, mostly due to the great front desk staff and the service staff. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of the upper part of town, and my room was a dream come true with a large balcony with a hot tub, overlooking the sea. Maria from the front desk, gave us a wonderful tour of city on our first day, and from there on I received great restaurant suggestions, destination advice and everything I needed from Ember, Danilo, Maria and the rest of the staff. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Truly a five star experience that I will treasure for years to come.

This hotel is perfectly situated in town. The views are spectacular, and the breakfast spread is delicious. No complaints. By far the most important and impactful part of our stay was the staff. Amber, in particular, was incredible - she arranged everything for us, and everything she recommended was top notch - to the best gelato place, to special dinners out, to boat cruises and Etna tours. I’ve traveled all over the world, and Amber and the rest of the team at this hotel were beyond impressive.

Fantastic experience, the waitress Enza is super kind and friendly. She treated us wonderfully and spread her cheerfulness throughout.

We visited the terrace for a drink. Every drink was delicious, and the views were among the best in town. However, the price was a bit steep, with each drink costing around 25€.

great Bar for a quick drink in Taormina- very very expensive so there's not many folks to bother you. This is the best $30 drink you'll ever have.

Perfetto per una cena romantica, una celebrazione speciale o semplicemente per chi desidera godere del meglio che Taormina ha da offrire, in un’atmosfera rilassata e di classe. Ristorante Bellevue è il luogo dove la bellezza del paesaggio incontra l’eccellenza della tavola. Un’esperienza che lascia il segno, da vivere lentamente, sorso dopo sorso, boccone dopo boccone.
