Meteo Restaurant - GILF In Merano

Nice place above the river. Food was ok. Could have been a little warmer. Service was chilly. Wine selection complicated. One is amazed at the very good reviews and awards.

On the hot days in summer, this restaurant is pretty much the only restaurant that, being close to the Passer, has a perfect climate so that you can eat comfortably in the evening without breaking a sweat. The service is very good, served quickly and attentively and the dishes are not everyday. The compositions of the kitchen impress with their wealth of ideas and very good ingredients.

Wir kamen erst um 22:00 an und wurden dennoch sehr freundlich bedient. Die Küche war noch offen und wir haben ein fantastisches Abendessen bekommen. Selten so gut gegessen und absolut faire Preise für dieses Erlebnis. Die Lage ist sehr charmant neben dem Fluss, tolle Bedienung, hochwertiges Geschirr und Besteck. Angemessene Portionen und einfach ein Genuss für den Gaumen. Der Koch kombiniert verschiedene Zutaten und schafft ein tolles Geschmackserlebnis. Man merkt das regionale Zutaten verwendet werden und die Gerichte hausgemacht sind.

Himmlische Lage direkt am Wasser, kleine aber feine Speisekarte und super freundliches Personal. Es hat wunderbar geschmeckt und wir haben den Abend genossen

The Meteo is beautifully located directly on the promenade. The food was excellent, not classic South Tyrolean cuisine but incredibly creative and tasty.

Excellent food in a cozy place above a romantic gorge with a cozy torrent. The 24-hour ragout and the octopus in Saor were excellent, as was the tagliata with peach, chicory, and burrata. The cod was also cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Only the service always seemed a bit indignant and condescending; They seemed to be more bothered by the guests than interested in them, be it when they asked for a wine recommendation ("they eat completely different things, I'll bring you the house wine now, if you don't like it, take something else"), when asking for cutlery ("You want a spoon for the brew? Oh well...") or when paying - we were actually made to sit in front of the bill for over 10 minutes with our credit card drawn, and only got comfortable after I had sat at the bar had asked to accept the payment. It's difficult for me to decide whether this was due to a certain distance from my (very cultured and polite) Korean family or an idiosyncratic, specifically Merano charm.

Absolute experience!! We had a lovely evening with a very creative menu. The service staff was also super nice and attentive! You feel completely comfortable.
