Do you want and need to buy local products? Or just let yourself be carried away by the market atmosphere? Whatever you like, this is the right place where you can easily get lost in all the goodies they sell here. However, check the opening hours so that you don't come unnecessarily.

Beautiful market. It's worth getting lost in its streets with their mix of smells. It's worth the trip.

A lovely market with two layers of stalls surrounding a food hall. There is everything for sale - fruit & veg, olives, pasta, fish, meat, honey, salads…. All extremely appealing and fresh as can be. The food hall is also lovely, but the market more fun to look around and buy wonderful bits and pieces.

Honestly, I was underwhelmed at this market. Plus the hours are ridiculous. Seems things are always closed.

If you like well-stocked markets with a wide selection of fruit, vegetables, fish and meat, then you should visit it. The culinary offer in the central atrium is also varied.

A great place to find local products, and in the city center, where you can eat a wide variety of dishes in different restaurants, which share tables and a central bar. Prices vary, to suit different budgets.
The market stalls are excellent, with a great variety of products.

Genoa's most famous municipal market, known as the "Orientale" (Eastern Market) because when it was established in the late 19th century, it was located in the eastern part of the city, which was undergoing a complete urban redevelopment at the time. It occupies the site of a convent built two centuries earlier, the colonnades of which can still be seen. The central courtyard, with a glass roof built 150 years ago, houses the MOG (Modern Market), complete with catering facilities. The space isn't particularly large, but it's welcoming and pleasant; it's like being outdoors while simultaneously protected from the elements.
