It was one of those early autumn evenings, when the air still carries a suspended, almost unnatural warmth, as if summer refused to die entirely. The streets were jammed with traffic, car headlights flashed like warning signals in the darkness, and I drove toward my destination with a subtle, almost unsettling sense of anticipation: Mattia's Pizzeria. The place was there, as always, brightly lit. The people inside were friendly, smiling, almost too much so. A kindness that, on that already strange evening, seemed sinister. I ordered takeout as usual, my diavola, trusting the memory of past pizzas, which had once been a staple of my evenings. I waited patiently, watching the customers come and go, while the feeling that something wasn't going to go as planned slowly grew within me. When the hot box passed into my hands, I returned to the car. The ride home was short, but accompanied by an eerie silence, broken only by the monotonous rumble of the engine and the smell of pizza filling the cabin. When I arrived, I opened the box with the same trepidation I'd always had. But what I found inside was a shadow of the past: an average pizza, slightly rubbery, and with an almost grotesque detail. Five and a half salamis scattered about as if someone had thrown them haphazardly, reducing my diavola to a caricature of itself. The scene made me laugh, sure, but with that nervous laugh that brings no relief. Every bite was edible, but it carried with it the painful memory of what Mattia's had been. A slow decline, evident, undeniable. I closed the box and remained silent. Outside, the abnormal autumn heat enveloped everything in a suspended, almost unreal atmosphere. It wasn't just the pizza that had lost its edge: it was as if time itself had cracked, giving way to a dark feeling, impossible to shake.

Da anni andiamo da mattia’s, adoriamo le sue pizze, con lievitazione a 72h.. l’ambiente è confortevole, il personale cortese.. un punto di riferimento!
