Capitato per caso, gli altri ristoranti testaccini erano tutti al completo e non avevo prenotato... Però il Mattarello è una garanzia, io conoscevo quello di Valle Aurelia e di Mattia Battistini, questo forse è anche meglio. Servizio buono, cibo ok. Anche birra alla spina rossa Leffe!!! Insomma è andata bene! Non ti puoi sbagliare se dar Mattarello vuoi mangiare!

Here in Testaccio, at Mattarello, my family and I were guests of our friends from Rome, who brought us here to eat traditional Roman dishes. I had a phenomenal artichoke alla giugia and some truly sublime local vegetables. Then we moved on to the first courses, the Carbonara...a masterpiece, made with tonnarelli...a sublime fresh homemade pasta. The best carbonara I've ever had. The service and atmosphere are excellent...it's like being at home. Highly recommended.

25/07/2025: Unique place! Great prices for the city, tasty and authentic dishes. Rice cooked just the way I like it, impeccable chicken, and super tasty ravioli. Highly recommended, I come here often.
22/02/2025: Definitely the best dishes I've ever eaten. The spicy tofu is truly amazing. Also excellent are the spaghetti with vegetables, the grilled ravioli, the rolls (even the steamed ones). Really low prices and unmatched quality-price.

Ristorante Er Gallo Nero

13/09/2025: Excellent Roman pizza, and excellent service. We were in the area, short on time, and returned to this restaurant after many years. Even though it was late, around 10 pm, they were excellent. The table was set with great care and discretion: truly kind. The pizzas arrived in a flash, and the wood-fired oven is fantastic; they cooked perfectly. The ingredients are high-quality, perhaps not abundant, but given the speed we requested, they still deserve top marks. The atmosphere is informal, perfect for groups and families, and there's karaoke for singing along in the dining room. There's also a large outdoor dining area, which, especially in the summer, is great for children. Reservations are recommended during rush hour, and parking isn't easy nearby before 10 pm. You won't find anything better in this category in the Battistini area.
06/09/2025: Truly one of the best in the area. Superb pizzas and everything is always perfect.
