Matsurika di Tokyo In Torino

I had takeout a few days ago and I swear I can't stop thinking about the food. I went on a classic Gyoza + Karaage, got some rice and edamame. I loved how delicate the food was, as well as easy to digest. I look forward to more of it :)

Let me start by saying that going to eat here is not easy because in addition to not taking reservations and, given the small place it is, they have a timetable policy that is certainly not customer-focused. On the first attempt we showed up at 2pm to eat and were told that the kitchen would be closing in a few minutes so they couldn't give us almost anything, basically they didn't welcome us at 2pm... Oh well. On the second attempt we go early, the place is empty, we ordered but five years passed before the rice burgers arrived, the two girls who serve are not at all capable of organizing their work, so the service is definitely lacking. The dishes on the other hand weren't that bad, with the exception of a donburi with tempura crumbs that tasted like absolutely nothing.

Without a doubt the best I've ever eaten, Japanese take away that looks like a real izakaya!!

Good food, not great. Portions not very large. Cold place with a strong smell of food. Perhaps a more powerful extractor hood would be needed.

Small place, it fills up easily but welcoming, very well organized and evocative. Phenomenal cuisine. Recommended for lovers of the Land of the Rising Sun and beyond!

Un posto carino dove mangiare cucina casalinga giapponese, lontana dal solito sushi di scarsa qualità degli all you can eat, sia per qualità sia per prezzo. L'ambiente è carino e accogliente. Una non eccessiva attesa è stata ampiamente ripagata dal gusto dei piatti, buoni e dal sapore di casa, insieme alla cortesia delle persone che ci lavorano. Torneremo per provare altro ☺

We decided to try this place as we were staying at a hotel nearby, it was alright I suppose. I am Asian and grew up eating Japanese food, I found it a bit bland to be honest as I suspect they may have toned down some of the flavours for the European customers whilst the Japanese food I have grown up with would have stronger flavours. The takoyaki and seaweed salad were great, but I thought that the Yakiniku and katsu curry bowls were on the bland side. The staff were super friendly and English speaking, which was nice. The atmosphere was a delight. I'm glad we ate there anyway as we had a lot to see whilst sightseeing and it was great to have something different after having had plenty of Italian pizza and pasta for days.
