The dishes are excellent, carefully prepared and rich in flavor. The menu prices, especially considering the quality, are affordable. A gastronomic experience worth repeating. The only small drawback: the place isn't exactly easy to find.

My son and I took the cooking class experience (country side cooking menu). We got to learn and cook with the executive chef Bianca Celano directly. She was wonderful and took the time to explain the techniques, ingredients, and cultural significance of the dishes and steps in the recipes. The food was exceptional.

After a strenuous day, this charming, fine little restaurant provides a wonderful, peaceful end to the day with good food and fine wine. As a fan of non-chill-filtered single malt whiskies, I was rewarded with a Craigellachie. Wonderful. Very competent service. I'd definitely go back when in Catania – the signage is almost a bit too modest; you have to search for the entrance.

We chose 5 dishes. 3 were delicious. 2 dishes were ok, but nothing special and seemed boring in taste. The staff were polite and friendly but did not seem as engaged as one is used to at similar events.
Great place and beautifully decorated.
Entrance: You have to ring the bell. The way forward is up an entrance/stairs to the right, just inside the front door. There you may have to ring the bell again.

The best restaurant in town for its menu (which follows the seasonality of excellent ingredients) and service (the staff is extremely knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of each individual diner).
Every time I've dined at Materia, the staff has been obsessive in their attention to my various allergies (quite a few) and the requests I've made during my pregnancy, always with a smile and a friendly exchange.
The atmosphere is almost homely, despite the refinement of the dishes, which strive for perfection in taste and aesthetics.
Chef Bianca Celano takes the time to explain how the dishes are made and also recounts the journey that led her to combine seemingly disparate ingredients in her quest for balanced flavors.
All this makes Materia spazio cucina a unique experience not to be missed at least once!

A fantastic experience in every way: food, wine, and service.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Habitat Hotel, just steps from the Teatro Massimo Bellini.
The wine list focuses primarily on organic producers, carefully selected without boring junk.
In the kitchen, Bianca Celano—a chef who needs no introduction—guarantees uncompromising choices of raw materials and, with the invaluable support of her team, creates dishes that revitalize body, soul, and mind.
