Mastunicola In Palermo

I went to Mastunicola on a Saturday evening, 10pm shift, we were seated immediately and the service was friendly and efficient (even if I don't like being asked several times during the evening if everything is going well, it makes you feel a bit controlled). The pizza (I took the Spaccanapoli if I'm not mistaken) was exceptional: high but crunchy crust, thin pizza itself, delicate and perfectly balanced toppings. Certainly a pizza that you remember, but not because it stays on your stomach, quite the opposite. Although via Venezia does not represent a splendid location, the place itself is beautiful and elegant.

Excellent pizza, we took two both good, I liked the red draft beer less. I followed the waiter's suggestion regarding the addition of truffle on the pizza, which I later discovered was worth €7, which I paid in full even though we had said from the beginning that my partner would not have wanted it on her half, service, at the very least, inattentive.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I wanted to point out a few things because I saw a lot of poorly exploited potential. I start from the assumption that I'm fine with paying €20 for a pizza, but in my opinion, when we enter a medium-high price range, you can't rely only on the quality of the food to justify these prices. The room was very minimalist, without any particularity that caught the eye. The table, for example, was decorated with a fake succulent plant, which was totally avoidable in my opinion. The bathrooms had no soap and the hand dryer was broken. And that's not a small thing. I found the service unnecessarily frenetic, we were served by a very kind gentleman, probably the maitre, who however seemed to be the only one interested in the customers. As for the pizzas, excellent. Mine was a little burnt I admit, but you could notice the attention to ingredients and quality. Right from here I would start to improve those aspects that perhaps may seem secondary, but that in reality often and willingly become a main part of the experience. In any case I would recommend.

Locale molto carino , curato nei dettagli, veloce il servizio, ampia scelta delle pizze, peccato per gli antipasti, troppo olio e troppo gonfie le montanarine. Personale gentile e disponibile, adatto anche a bambini piccoli. Consigliato per una piacevole serata.
