We have been here twice now, and both times it felt like a fairy tale. If I had to mention a negative point it would be the fans/lack of air conditioning.

The Massimago Wine Relais is secluded in the middle of the vineyards of Valpolicella. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Verona. The food is excellent (a lot of it is home-grown/the surrounding forests) and there are also some good restaurants around. Our absolute favorite were the Fussilone with nettle pesto and veal ragout. Breakfast is nothing special, you get a box that contains bread, yoghurt, eggs, jam and muesli and you can also take cold cuts. This is very sustainable because little has to be thrown away, but it is also somewhat limited in selection. In addition, the café from the machine is really not good (we got mocha during a power outage which was very good, but unfortunately it wasn't available the rest of the days, which was a shame because obviously the option would have been there). The service and generally everyone there is very nice and attentive. There was a power outage due to roadworks, which meant there was no water, but that was handled well. Our room (Olivo) was air-conditioned, had a small kitchen and was very nicely furnished. Minus point: 1. the joints in the shower were black (from mold?) which seemed a bit unhygienic. 2. In addition, the bed was unfortunately very, very uncomfortable. What's great is that you can drink the tap water here because it's spring water (+ you don't smell like chlorine after showering). The large and beautiful property also includes a pool that is a good size. Unfortunately there was only one umbrella because the other one was broken. So we gathered with other guests under this one umbrella (that was okay, but not ideal). The pool was very dirty at first, but on our second day a company came and cleaned it very well. Our own chickens run around freely during the day, as do some cats, which we found very nice. In addition, the house wine is really good, we especially liked the various Amarones. All in all, the positive points outweighed the negatives for us, which is why we would like to come back. It's incredibly quiet on the property, which is why you can really relax.

Stunning place surrounded by greenery, a real discovery. The road to get there is a bit rough, but it's worth it. Excellent wines!

We stayed at Corte Massimago for one night. Friendly and polite staff, you feel pampered. I recommend staying by the pool during the summer and having dinner with the tasting menu, it will not disappoint you.

A wonderful place in Mezzane, an excellent relais where it is fantastic to have lunch and even have business lunches.

We wanted to buy some wines in the wine shop. Although we arrived after official closing times, they took the time and explained everything there is to know. About their wines, the vineyard and their methods. The wine was very good, the staff made it a special experience. We ended up eating here, and did not regret it! For a very small price, you get exceptional tasteful and special food.

Beautiful place, the food is divine, Ervin's cuisine is divine. The wines are excellent and the mezzane oil is super good 😋

Sapori ricercati, mai banali, materia prima di eccellente qualità (su tutte il vino, per forza di cose). Servizio cordiale e per nulla invadente. Davvero speciale il french toast rivisitato. Prezzo più che onesto vista l'offerta di alto livello. Complimenti!
