Roman tavern in the heart of Tor Pignattara. There is no menu with prices and you order by voice. The place is very rustic and the dishes average. Recommended for those who want to eat real Roman dishes.

Super cool and true Roman place, if you are looking for the roots of poor yet super tasty roman dishes, this is your place. Just be sure to listen to the owner’s stories and vibe with him: tou’ll love it.

Magical place. Here I was treated like someone at home, even though I'm not at home as I'm from Turin 😂 We came here at the suggestion of a friend and we were not disappointed! Classic Roman trattoria, rustic furnishings but everything perfectly clean. I don't even know how to comment on the staff, when he came to list the dishes he cracked me up, super nice and friendly, he made us have an even more magical evening. The food was all super good, all made by them on the spot, all fresh and well cooked. More than honest value for money! Recommended if you want to have fun and eat well one evening!

If you want to eat truly Roman food at Betto and Mary you have to go. Traditional cuisine but not to be confused with "typical". Creative service and fast waiters. Excellent prices To try. And what are you waiting for?

If you are looking for an authentic Roman experience, the Betto e Mary restaurant is the place for you. Located in the heart of the Tuscolano district, this trattoria perfectly embodies the spirit of old Rome, with its informal and welcoming atmosphere. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by the staff with a warm smile and a typically Roman joke. The decor is simple but full of character, with checked tablecloths and historic photographs on the walls that tell the story of the neighborhood. The menu is a riot of traditional Roman dishes. I started with a mixture of starters that were simply delicious: scamorza in carrozza, coppa with citrus fruits, fried broccoli, and nervetti, all prepared to perfection and full of flavour. As a first course, I chose the rigatoni with pajata: creamy and rich in flavour, a truly mouth-watering Roman dish. For the second course, I tried the horse pannicolo, which was a real butter that melted in your mouth, very tender and tasty. But the real heart of the restaurant is the atmosphere. Between one course and another, you find yourself chatting with your neighbors, sharing stories and laughter, while the owner comes by to check that everyone is satisfied, perhaps telling some anecdotes about Rome. The house wine flows abundantly and the service is friendly and quick. It is not the place where you feel like a customer, but part of a large family that gathers every evening to celebrate good food and company. In conclusion, Betto e Mary is not just a restaurant, but an experience of Roman life. If you want to taste authentic dishes and immerse yourself in the spirit of the eternal city, this is the place for you. You will return home with a full heart and a smile on your face, counting the days until your next visit.

Authentic Roman place, everything delicious. You can find both the classics and the more "niche" dishes typical of the tradition

This is a hidden gem. Amazing, genuine and authentic local atmosphere, friendly staff, family vibes, we loved the Cavallo horse steak we have searching for it, and the mixed platter, and best Termisu ever.

La Ciambella

12/08/2024: Wandering around Rome, we come across this restaurant and without having booked we ask for a free table for two. The staff very kindly found us a table straight away but with one condition: request at least two courses. Looking at the menu, full of special proposals, we immediately decide to try the "Bar a Vin" tasting menu which includes two starters, a first course, a second course and a sweet or savory choice! The two appetizers of the tasting are a Roman Maritozzo stuffed with lamb (very good) and a Roman-style flaky bread with butter and olives stuffed with ricotta and sausage. The first is a dish of "ricotta and mint buttons with courgette cream" (good!) while the second is a deer tartare, crunchy wasabi with egg bottarga. To conclude, instead of dessert, I opt for a savory dish, i.e. a selection of cheeses. Each dish is served with a very accurate description which makes the experience better. The bill is slightly above average due to both the location and the beautiful location of the restaurant but in any case I absolutely recommend a visit and since the menu changes very often I don't rule out a return for the winter season.
