Fried polenta with the right crispiness BUT completely unsalted. The service was quite rude. I gave it 5 stars because it's on a street in Bari.

I've been there several times and have never been disappointed: a true must-try for Bari street food! The sgagliozze are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, warm and fragrant, with that irresistible aroma that greets you as soon as you enter the alley. The place is small, with no seating, so it's perfect for grabbing a bite and enjoying it right away, keeping a safe distance from the boiling oil. Despite its simplicity, the atmosphere is typical of Bari Vecchia: you hear the Bari dialect spoken by the owners and staff, and a smile inevitably escapes your face. The staff is friendly, quick, and always available, even when it's crowded. The value for money is exceptional: little to spend, lots of flavor. Every time I pass through Bari, stopping by Maria delle Sgagliozze is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

If you like polenta, you'll be happy. In my opinion, you need to season it with plenty of salt. The price has gone up by 50 percent during the holiday season 🤔

For €2 you get a delicious aperitif that's hard to finish on your own. In 2025, I don't know what more you could want.

It was good, piping hot and crispy. Would be nice if it was served with a dip or something as it can be boring on its own. You may have to wait for a quite some. We've waited for about 10 mins
