Mare Nostrum In

The pasta vongole was excellent, the calamari was fine, but we missed a sauce. The ravioli was tasty but not a very large portion. The server was incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English. All in all, a delicious and pleasant dining experience.

The restaurant takes the legacy of the old Marenostrum and reimagines it with more contemporary touches, both in the food plating and the table setting. The food is very good, the prices are a bit above average due to the attention to detail and the particularly romantic location, but the portions are significantly smaller than its predecessor. But everything remains very good. The service is certainly medium-high. Parking is available.

Very beautiful and charming location overlooking the sea and the piers in the Soriente shipyard area. Relaxing music. The soft lighting on the tables also creates the right atmosphere. As for the food: they don't have a very extensive menu with a wide selection, partly because the fish main courses are all grilled. I can't review the first courses and appetizers for the sake of fairness, as I haven't tried them. I asked for sea bream in salt, but it was grilled and didn't have the typical layer of salt. The fish, however, was fresh but bland. The grilled fish consisted of small, few pieces, but sufficient, a little dry, probably due to the grilling. The desserts were neither good nor bad. The service was good, because the waiters are kind, fast, and try to accommodate the customer's needs, but they don't always succeed. The bill was slightly steep for what we ate.

Ero già stata anni fa in questo ristorante e mi ero trovata benissimo. Per questo ho deciso di tornarci con amici e si è confermato un gran bel posto anche oggi. Ottimo cibo, prezzi nella media ,personale e proprietari cordiali, disponibili e attenti. Ci tornerò sicuramente.

In my opinion, the location is one of the most charming in Salerno; in its characteristic simplicity, it has no need for frills. The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, but the service is attentive, despite the large number of guests. The high expectations were not disappointed by the young chef Francesco Esposito, with dishes typical of our region but with just the right amount of originality and freshness. The price, too, is absolutely average. Definitely worth repeating!

We visited this seafood restaurant on Sunday and had a truly enjoyable experience. We sampled a light and crispy fried calamari, perfectly dry and flavorful. For our first course, the scialatielli with mussels and clams was well-balanced: fresh pasta, generous amounts of seafood, and a flavorful yet delicate sauce. The staff was courteous and attentive, and the relaxed atmosphere made the lunch even more enjoyable.
