Simple Genoese cuisine in an old-fashioned, slightly cramped restaurant in the historic center.
Everything is average but nothing to write home about, with portions and prices certainly not those of a trattoria. A very simple plate of commercial-style trenette pasta, topped with a cheap pesto, costs €14—it's truly unbearable. Likewise, three mini crostini with a slice of lard and an anchovy cost €13. The cima with Russian salad and fried anchovies are decent.
To sum up: 1 appetizer, 2 first courses, and 2 second courses with water and 4 glasses of white wine cost €90. Definitely too much for the context and substance.
There's definitely better!

This is a small restaurant serving regional cuisine in Genoa, located very close to the sea. It was surprisingly difficult to get a reservation. Evening reservations are only available at 7:30 or 9:00 PM, which is too early or too late for me. It's an Italian restaurant, but the staff are all foreigners. The food is generally delicious, but the tables are small and the seating is narrow, so it can be a bit noisy.

We came to Genoa on a cruise, and it's a truly beautiful city with fantastic architecture and atmosphere. The restaurant is very traditional, with classic Italian architecture and service, and the waiters were incredibly friendly. And the food... what can I say about the food? Simply spectacular. The tiramisu is 100% recommended (even if you don't usually like it, I don't, but I loved this one). We had a wonderful meal. If we return to Genoa, which we definitely will, we'll definitely go back to Mangiabuono.
