Il locale è al centro di sestriere con estrema facilità nel trovare parcheggio. Quando entri ti accorgi realmente di essere non in un classico ristorante ma nel cuore della montagna. Ottima cucina di montagna rispecchiante il corredo del locale. Polenta e brasato come ai vecchi tempi. Ambiente e personale accog;iente. Ci ritorneremo.

**08/21/2024 - Review for "Mamma Lia" restaurant - Sestriere** I would like to clarify my experience at the "Mamma Lia" restaurant in Sestriere and deny some negative reviews I have read. On August 19, 2024, a group of 9, including 4 children, and I had dinner at the restaurant. After paying the bill by card, we realized that the detailed receipt, necessary to divide the expenses between us, was missing. When we returned to the restaurant, we found it closed. I then contacted the manager via message to request the receipt and a breakdown of the prices. Unfortunately, the response I received was unsatisfactory: I was told to divide the total by 9 people, without providing me with further details. This episode worried me, especially due to the lack of transparency, which could be seen as a violation of tax regulations. I was on the verge of considering a report to the Financial Police, also because some previous reviews indicated similar problems regarding the issuing of receipts and card payments. However, today, August 21, 2024, I want to refute these negative reviews. After my request, the restaurant owner promptly sent me the receipt via WhatsApp. Furthermore, I noticed that there had been an error in the bill, with an extra first course being charged. After reporting the matter to the owner, he sincerely apologized and refunded me the amount via bank transfer. This transfer proves the truth and disproves the negative reviews I had read. Unfortunately, sometimes, not all reviews are truthful. After reading them, it is important to delve deeper into the situation, wait for the problem or misunderstanding to evolve and only then write your review. I repeat, in this restaurant they accept payments with POS, debit cards and credit cards without any problem. The food is excellent, particularly the polenta and the agnolotti. I highly recommend the polenta, which has a unique and different flavour, probably a local or local specialty, but in any case really excellent. In conclusion, I want to thank the owner and all the staff for their courtesy. I highly recommend visiting this place, which has demonstrated seriousness and availability in resolving an inconvenience, thus disproving the negative reviews which, based on my experience, I do not consider to be truthful.

The day after mid-August, we pass through Sestriere and decide to stop for lunch. We look at the premises and we happen to see this restaurant, we check the first review is positive and we decide to enter. We are immediately greeted with "the POS doesn't work" I always walk around with cash and so we decide to sit down. The menu is brought to us, initially I decide on the ravioli then my wife takes the polenta with wild boar, I ask how the concia polenta is made and then I also decide on the polenta with wild boar. A polenta with wild boar and a tanned polenta arrive, my wife points this out to the waitress who doesn't even listen to us and continues to serve the others. To avoid arguments, I eat polenta concia. The food was good and also served with nice trays. I then have a dessert, a good one, and then two coffees. We get the bill and mentally I think about 50 euros, a bottle of water about 3 euros, 2 polentas 28 euros, a dessert 8 euros and 2 coffees. They bring us the bill on a non-tax receipt for 60 euros. I don't make a fuss, I give the waitress their receipt and the 60 euros and we go towards the exit thinking that they would bring us the receipt; but nothing.. We are on holiday I don't want to argue and let's go away. Today, rereading the reviews, I saw that their POS often doesn't work and I decided to add my experience.

Mid-August lunch. Passing through Sestriere. Truly original place. Excellent food, tortellini, polenta, braised meat etc. Helpful and courteous staff. Price appropriate for the location. 👌🏻

Nice place in the centre, prices fairly in line, food okay, the owner friendly, it would have been nice to receive a smile from the lady and the waitresses but that's okay.

Very surprised by the bad reviews. To me, this is the best option in Sestriere.

The Brasato was good but it came with polenta and the Tortelli was not tasty and the sausage did not have a typical taste, in addition soft drinks were served with an expiration date of 4 months. My wife's order did not come and the bill was charged. The charge was reversed and it was ok. They have few options on the menu and they don't understand any language other than Italian well. For a restaurant that tourists should frequent, it requires a little additional effort.

Not very kid friendly though. But they were very nice
