Malidea - Freschi e croccanti In Polignano a mare

Looking at the statue of Domenico Modugno framed by the glimpse of the splendid Polignano, you will find this cheerful and fun place where you can enjoy a noteworthy aperitif with excellent cocktails and very tasty food. We tried the tacos with the typical local capocollo and a pinsa with aubergines, stracciatella and cherry tomatoes, the products are very good and very fresh. The place offers a wide choice for an excellent aperitif and the staff is truly courteous, helpful and friendly.

Attracted by the positive reviews we decided to have an aperitif and dinner. The place is in a nice location and well-kept in the details, but the content disappointed my expectations a little. The cutting board was not exciting and the Aperol Spritz was not either. The stuffed Puccia was good instead. The service was mediocre, we could have stayed longer but the coldness of the staff did not convince us to stay. It is certainly a place with potential and positive points, but it can give much more.

Nice bistro right by the sea. Good pinsa, big choice and ok prices. Specific service - waitress sings and shouts while cleaning tables in the garden but it has its charm. I recommend ;)

I just finished eating and having drinks with my fiancé here, great experience! The location is amazing! A couple of steps away from the Domenico statue with a view of the ocean. The drinks were great! The aperol spritz was perfect and the drink I ordered was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised with the food they offer. The mameli sandwich was delicious! The focaccia was piping hot and fresh, the carpaccio was delicious with a nice mozzarella sauce laid out on top of the sandwich. One of the best focaccias we have had on our trip. We also tried the parmigiano e mortadella focaccia flatbread which was ok when compared to the mameli but, still good. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall, it was one of our favorite dining experiences during our trip to Italy. I would 100% return if we were to return to Polignano A Mare.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Okay, but there was a noticeable lack of hospitality. We visited Malidea because of the many positive reviews – which made it all the more disappointing that our impression was considerably more sober. The Aperol Spritz was good and served in a large gin highball glass – we actually found that positive and something different. What left a lot to be desired, however, was the atmosphere: It clearly lacked hospitality. The service seemed aloof and unfriendly. You felt more like a nuisance than a welcome guest – a feeling that unfortunately persisted throughout your entire stay. The outdoor area was unkempt: There were wooden stirrers from previous guests on the floor, the ashtrays weren't clean, and the table was only wiped after asking twice. Even small but typical details were missing: No snacks were served with the drink – which in Italy is actually part of the aperitivo. Little things like this create a sense of ambiance and encourage you to stay longer or order another drink. We would have loved to, but ultimately decided against it and moved on – which is a shame and shouldn't really be the spirit of the restaurant industry. Perhaps it was just a snapshot. Still, at a restaurant with so many positive reviews, you expect more attention – to the guests, the service, and the overall experience.

I thought the Sunrise pizza was great, but it didn't look like what I expected. The service only gets two stars because the man serving there seemed to be annoyed. Was it with me? With tourists? With whatever, but the much friendlier colleague who followed couldn't make up for it. Still, I'd go back for the pizza with runny mozzarella, salad, and delicious crust. By the way, they also provided scissors for cutting it into small pieces.

Fabuleux ! Franchement, la pâte est excellente, les ingrédients frais, on s’est régalé ! Je recommande la pissa avec jambon de parme, stracciatella (crème de burrata), et tomates cerises (pomodoro). Tout simplement excellente !
