For about 30 years, we've been making regular trips to South Tyrol, near Schenna. The rustic Moschwald Alm is a must-see for us! Slightly off the beaten tourist track, the alpine pasture has retained its authentic charm. And if you're lucky enough to be invited into Elisabeth's cozy "Stüberl" for a schnapps, even the descent to Falzeben is no problem 😉. If I could give six stars, I'd give them to the Moschwald Alm!

Last week we visited the lovely Elisabeth at her alpine pasture and had the honor of taking a dumpling-making course with her! It was absolutely fantastic! A welcome change from all the sports. Elisabeth and her family cook exclusively with fresh ingredients at the pasture, and everything from bacon dumplings and apple strudel to Kaiserschmarren is homemade – we were there to witness it all! Wonderful mountain hut. Very friendly hostess. Quiet location with a great view. The food was delicious and the prices very reasonable. We hiked there from the Merano 2000 mountain station. We would definitely come back.

A very cozy, authentic, and relaxed alpine hut. I enjoyed the world's best apple strudel here. The food is homemade and delicious. I find the prices a bit too low, but you can easily make up for that with a generous tip :)

Today my wife and I visited the Moschwald Alm again. It's always such a joy to stop there! It's become a must on our itinerary. This alpine pasture is rustic, charming, and a place to escape the everyday hustle and bustle. A wonderful way to slow down in a short time for those who allow themselves to experience it. The food is definitely homemade and delicious. Anyone who knows anything about herbs will immediately spot, for example, lovage growing in the raised beds, which will undoubtedly find its way into the beef noodle soup. The innkeeper is a prime example of warm hospitality, and the prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for a quiet and beautiful little alpine pasture that simply invites you to relax and unwind, you should come here. But please, not all at once, so that the charm of this place isn't lost, and if you're looking for fries and burgers paired with après-ski music, please go somewhere else! Here you'll find relaxation, delicious food, the sound of cowbells, and lovely people. We'll definitely be back!

Among the desserts, an extraordinary apple cake stands out, served with a generous cloud of fresh whipped cream: soft, fragrant, and made with genuine ingredients, it is a true treat for the palate. Every bite speaks of South Tyrolean tradition and a passion for things done well. The welcome is warm and familiar, the service attentive, and the atmosphere invites you to linger longer than expected to enjoy the view and the tranquility of the mountains. A highly recommended stop for those seeking authentic flavors, sincere hospitality, and one of the best desserts to be enjoyed in the mountains. The Moschwald Alm is a little gem where nature and good food meet perfectly.

Very good home-style cooking and a great view

We were so happy that we continued on to another alpine pasture (as the atmosphere there wasn't so nice) and were able to stop here a short time later. We received a warm welcome, and when we asked about vegan options, they offered us a delicious mixed salad and some incredibly tasty fried potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and the fried potatoes were served in thin slices. It was fantastic! Plus, the view is stunning.

We stopped for lunch and had a great meal for a small price. The owners were friendly and quick. The food was truly excellent.

Beautiful alpine pasture with a magnificent view. Very friendly. One star deducted because of the "natural water." Ordering "natural water" and receiving a Merano "natural water" bottle filled with tap water is unacceptable. I have nothing against tap water; I prefer it anyway. But simply filling the bottle and selling it as Merano water is absolutely wrong.
