The only true Greek "restaurant" in Bari, excellent food and friendly staff

Excellent quality ingredients for sure, unfortunately prices are really too high compared to the dish, it is obvious to charge more for authentic products imported directly from Greece such as tzatzichi, feta or Saganaki cheese, I tasted all 3 and they were very good, but the rest of the ingredients It doesn't justify a couple's expense of 66 euros... It was certainly our mistake not to send back the extra dishes that arrived not ordered, due to excessive politeness... I conclude by saying that you shouldn't have a simple Gyrosteria as a yardstick, this is a restaurant, but it's not at high gastronomy levels so the prices should be adjusted especially for the drinks, 8 euros for a beer is really too much as well as the bitters final which almost seemed to us to be offered as often happens and which instead cost 5 euros. Far be it from me to make sterile criticisms, I hope that the message is understood and that we work to improve even if unfortunately I suspect that my message will only be followed by an angry and defensive response, I hope I'm wrong! I'll be back in a few months to see if it will be possible to enjoy a dish without spending over 20 euros 🤞😊

The place is pleasant, the service is excellent, the food is good with generous portions, the dark chocolate cake is excellent, the prices are affordable, taking into account that the main courses can easily be divided by two people.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not convincing at all. Meat grilled so dry it was inedible and most of the produce appeared to be convenience frozen food. You can get the same thing at the kebab shop for half the price. Greek cuisine is a lot better.

A truly characteristic place, with a very typical and freshly cooked Greek menu. Really delicious, highly recommended. Especially for the owner who is really nice and friendly.

Last night I was in this restaurant for the first time.......and I must say that both the welcome and the service were impeccable. Not to mention the Greek food.......all excellent and coming from a person who eats very little and above all Italian, being in this place was really pleasant. Obviously I thank whoever brought me. È xenia ed identifica il senso di ospitalità di chi ha avuto la fortuna di nascere e vivere in quella terra magica, culla del pensiero e del sapere che hanno forgiato il nostro tempo. Ebbene, quando si varca la soglia di questo locale è come entrare in un’altra dimensione, lasciando il mondo fuori con le sue nevrosi. Ad accoglierti sono il signor Nicola e la signora Rosanna, con un’affabilitá e un sorriso che fanno subito casa. Negli occhi di lui l’amore vero per la Grecia, da cui nasce la passione per la preparazione delle pietanze. Perché l’amore esige rispetto, per le tradizioni e la scelta degli ingredienti, rigorosamente ellenici. E pretende conoscenza, che lui non si stanca mai di alimentare con periodiche sortite oltre Adriatico per aggiornarsi ed approfondire l’arte culinaria. E il risultato a tavola si vede. E soprattutto si gusta. I tempi sono quelli necessari, perché si cucina tutto al momento. La frenesia non abita in questo luogo, dove moussaka, gyros, saganaki e souvlaki sono solo il pretesto di un’esperienza metagastronomica. Il cibo è squisito. E profuma di quella terra dove non a caso qualcuno cominciò, qualche millennio fa, a pensare al senso della vita. La signora Rosanna è un’empatica, elegante e affettuosa padrona di casa. La ragazza che ci serve un folletto con gli occhi grandi che non lesina pazienza e spiegazioni sui piatti, senza stress e sempre col sorriso spalancato sulle labbra. Sono stato tante volte in Grecia, ma mai avrei immaginato di “sentire” il sirtaki anche a Bari. Ci torneremo, non solo perché lo reclama il palato. Perché qui onorano la xenia. E non ci siamo sentiti solo clienti, ma quasi amici. Avvolti da una sinfonia bianca e azzurra al gusto di tzatziki

Sono stato in Grecia una quarantina di volte, conosco bene i loro piatti e quando voglio fare una rimpatriata culinaria, Magna Grecia è l'unico posto dove andare. Ne varrebbe la pena soltanto per il Moussakas che Nico prepara con passione e soprattutto amore. L'ho mangiato più volte, in varie città greche, nelle taverne locali e a casa di amici greci, mai avrei pensato di assaggiarne uno così superlativo qui a Bari. Inoltre la porzione è davvero generosa. Lo staff è gentilissimo, così come il proprietario, disponibilissimo nel raccontare la preparazione dei piatti e soprattutto quella dei buonissimi dolci. Συγχαρητήρια Νίκο, ο Μουσακάς σου ήταν πραγματικά εξαιρετικός.
