A well-designed little place in the town hall square in Ferrara, the back of the shop is a sign of the high-quality products coming from the historic family shop. Simple, small, with ample space, excellent wines, and delicious menu options. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very kind. A place to return to time and time again.

Absolutely one of the best places in Ferrara, the quality is at home, unique and tasty food, not to mention the wines and beers, everything is very refined, nothing is by chance! It is always a pleasure to visit these guys, they make you feel at home with their friendliness… Excellent and attentive service. If you want to enjoy the best products on the market this is the right place!

I visited Retrobottega Travagli in May'25 without any expectations, just because I liked its location - overlooking inner court. And it didn't disappoint. The location is nice, the staff is polite and helping, and the food was amazing. Oh! And one of the best Apperol Spritz I have tried. I would gladly visit again if I ever come back to Ferrara.

Location perfetta non c'è di meglio in tema a Ferrara. Piatti particolari con alcune chicche (vedi coppa do testa e mostarda... Da urlo) idem I vini. Peccato aprano tardi (se vuoi un semplice ape intendo). Però molto buono. Da tornarci.

Ideal for a quick snack, but without compromising on quality. Cold dishes and sandwiches are available in various configurations. In good weather you can enjoy the outdoor area on the courtyard behind the Palazzo della Ragione (nice view); the internal spaces are limited, but in bad weather you can count on wall shelves in the underpass that connects with Corso Garibaldi. If you are looking for an insignificant aperitif with a bunch of appetizers, this is not a place for you. Wine chosen with professionalism and care. Food... what can I say, I've been working in the restaurant world for 30 years, and now I'm starting to despair when I go around. Lately the quality of the offer has dropped significantly. They all offer lots of rubbish appetizers for free, included in the glass. Horror. Today I finally saw the light, the splendor of past years, where quality exists, you pay (and not even much in this case), but it's right. Otherwise go to McDonad's.

Really excellent location, friendliness of the managers who carefully recommend local and non-local wines, excellent food, all outside with warming mushrooms. Unmissable….
