I had the pleasure of having lunch today in this splendid restaurant-butcher shop with a dear friend. We tasted several dishes, including the fried cojones, two tartare, the super Medici lamb, the peposo and the kidney (really delicate and delicious). All accompanied by an excellent house wine. It was a top 10 experience! A really smart, comfortable, central little place and everything we ate was of quality and with well-balanced flavours. We also had a chat with the owner, a nice and thoughtful person, rare to meet. I will definitely be back!

29/10/2024: Very good restaurant in Florence. Impeccable service. The “pinsa” (Gerard with smoked salmon) that we were served was a little hard, which made it difficult to enjoy. The “lounge” musical atmosphere should be replaced by music with a little more soul. But I still recommend it!

Trattoria Antico Forno

24/11/2024: Exceptional food with the highest quality raw materials. A place such as is rarely found nowadays. Highly recommended!
11/10/2024: We actually prefer to try a different restaurant every day, but we liked this one so much that we went there two days in a row, and we probably would have come even more often if the opening times had been right. The restaurant has a small menu, exclusively in Italian (you may need to download an offline translator, as there is no cell phone reception in the restaurant), but that's not a bad thing, as the waiter is happy to give recommendations and also explains which variants (e.g. classic carbonara, or a variant with fish) the dishes are possible. Here you can really see how much fun both the waiter and the chef are having, the dishes taste really delicious and are combined brilliantly! Example is a codfish (in German, cod) served on small orange slices along with caramelized onions (seen in the last picture). I would never have thought of the combination myself, but it tastes incredibly good! Someone here really knows a thing or two about cooking! On the first evening we also had the Florentine steak to share and try. Absolutely worth it!
