As soon as you enter, the place envelops you in a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. The food and service are excellent. Here I ate one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in Catania, made with sourdough starter.

I've been to this restaurant several times. I must say I've always had good food, the location is very welcoming and unique in its decor. The staff are very kind and attentive, and the owners are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. What can I say? I'll definitely be back many more times. 😉

L'antica Taverna del castagno

13/12/2025: It was my first time here, and I must say I'll gladly return... you pay little and get a lot... I ate very well, from the rustic appetizers to the first and second courses, right down to dessert and coffee. Everything was delicious, and the place was rustic yet welcoming.
24/11/2025: Alfio, the wonderful guide at the Castagno dei Cento Cavalli, recommended this restaurant for our lunch. We were delighted by the antipasto that kept arriving with so many dishes. Then our pasta which was tasty. A great view towards the sea from the windows. We enjoyed our lunch very much.
