Let me start by saying that I gave 5 stars because more cannot be given and any comment from me would be superfluous. We went for lunch and chose the "dialect" tasting menu, a true delicacy, each dish paired with local products; unique and different dishes from the usual. The owner who is also the chef is an extraordinary person, as well as being a good Chef he is very cultured. He explained the contents and its history to us dish by dish, even going as far as the history of the peoples who preceded us and who brought cultures and customs to our territories. It was a pleasure to listen to Mr.'s stories. Federico inherent to his dishes and the territory, his ideas, we need more people like Mr. Federico. I remember his words "ours is a fantastic territory full of raw materials, we just need to know how to exploit them".
Furthermore, from the restaurant you can admire the peaks of the Pollino, today they were also whitewashed and when observing them you could smell the oak wood burning in the fireplaces. I highly recommend trying this experience.

Quality, goodness and innovation in a single restaurant. Upon entering you feel an air of home and warmth welcomed by Federico, an excellent and friendly person. The peculiarity of the dishes lies in their preparation and taste (for example pasta made with chickpea flour or very tender meat combined with spices and citrus fruits). The price is right and the view is breathtaking overlooking the Pollino park.

Michelin-starred and award-winning restaurant by chef Federico Valicenti; very particular dishes, partly belonging to the Lucanian tradition but revisited and renewed with new flavor notes, respecting the local peasant and pastoral culture. The cooking of the meat (truly fabulous porchettato lamb) and of the second courses in general is particularly notable and exquisite; the first courses are more "ordinary", although they are also very good and innovative. Tasty appetizers and local cold cuts. The dessert "tiramisud" is also excellent. The chef is very courteous, helpful and present in describing dishes and flavours, making the experience pleasant and homemade. The restaurant-style restaurant (including bathrooms) is however very dated, and the service (apart from the chef) is quite anonymous. Finally, the bill is that of a high-level restaurant; small portions but, in the context of the tasting menu, you will not remain hungry (starters, two first courses, two second courses, house wine, water, dessert with encore and coffee = €50 per person). With a complete restyling of the place and a more "present" and professional waiter I would have given it 5 stars.

Intrigued by the view, my family and I decided to have lunch in this wonderful restaurant.
We found not only warmth and welcome but also history, local wines, typical products and above all the possibility of a gluten-free lunch that is often difficult to find in places like these. The Chef is the first to welcome you at the table and spreads an enormous love for cooking and his land throughout the room. The dishes are a spectacle for the eye and the palate.
We will definitely be back. 💗

I go there every year with great satisfaction. Every time the availability and undoubted culinary skills of the owner make our lunch pleasant and fun.
Furthermore, he explains the history and composition of each course as well as some anecdotes about it.
Furthermore it also has the excellent location with a panoramic view of the mountains around Terranova del Pollino.

Typical restaurant in line with its context, the legendary chef will guide you in an unprecedented culinary experience, we didn't choose anything, on November 1st everything was on a fixed menu and it was better that way, two first courses and two second courses, which tell you about the area . Definitely coming back? Advised? Absolutely yes

Uno chef che, oltre a saper ben cucinare ed impiattare, ti delizia con la storia dei suoi piatti, che è la storia degli antichi lucani, è una piacevole sorpresa.
Abbiamo degustato cibi veramente particolari e trascorso una bella giornata.
Il ristorante merita i titoli ricevuti.
