L'Ostricaro In Terracina

A lovely seaside restaurant offering a varied selection of shellfish and seafood. My partner and I started by sharing some excellent oysters and an exceptional octopus salad. We then moved on to the catch of the day, which, fortunately, included John Dory. Everything was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the evening was enlivened by excellent live music. A recommended spot for a pleasant and relaxing evening by the sea.

Magnificent place, very kind and friendly service! The fish is of exceptional quality and the prices are in line with the service and food offered.

A nice place where you eat well, but it's a shame they tend to take the customer for a ride. The service is sloppy, with first courses coming out before you can even finish the appetizers, and they're also sneaky when it comes to tips. The menu lists house desserts for 10 euros, but on our bill, a simple tiramisu was 15 (I don't know, maybe they thought we wouldn't notice?! 😅). The wine list was very expensive, so much so that three glasses of Passito came to 39 euros. Plus, the catch of the day was nonexistent because in the heat, you can't catch fish. The owner is quite rude to his employees. Our family business, as well as the place where we work, is a truly high-end seafood restaurant... so perhaps this time you thought you were fooling the wrong people.

I've been coming here for the third year (I take the ferry to Ponza). Nothing to say about the food, always excellent, the location always pleasant, but this time the service is an understatement. We arrive and the table isn't even set. Then I immediately notice that oil and salt are the only things we don't have. The waiter first takes the order from a trio who arrived after us. We order two first courses and two glasses of wine. They bring the bread and add oil to the trio. Then, perhaps because I'm watching, the waiter does the same service. The wine hasn't arrived, but I see it arrive on the trio's table and I'll understand later, when they bring the second course with the extra potatoes that they say they didn't order, and not even the wine (😂 it's amazing how people drink something they didn't order, but whatever). In the end, I go to pay (clearly I didn't order dessert or anything else because paying 5 euros per person per cover and being treated like outcasts. Who knows, maybe I should have acted like those who act like big spenders, since there's always someone who takes the bait). I told the owner about the missing wine and the service. poor, I'll come back next year, huh?

Spectacular fresh seafood (oysters, prawns, and scampi), tasty and unique first courses, and a second course of fish served pre-cleaned with skill and care. Worth repeating.
