Extremely hungry after a disastrous summer excursion to Martignano, we almost force ourselves to stop at the first osteria on the way, encouraged by the reviews. From the outside, we're not entirely convinced, but the interior is honest and welcoming; they seat us with a smile (we're off to a good start). The menu is displayed on a chalkboard and offers a good osteria-style selection of classics and Roman dishes. Some people add a first course, while I focus on a meat-based second course (a mixed grill) and a double side of sautéed potatoes and vegetables, washed down with Claudia water, which is locally sourced. The dishes arrive promptly, the service reserved but attentive, the dishes (based on the ones I've tried) are balanced and flavorful, each piece of meat perfectly cooked and the potatoes perfectly cooked. Finally, a satisfying experience on a day where everything went wrong due to the local disorganization... if only there were a hundred osterias!

We've been there many times, and every time is a guarantee!
Traditional Roman cuisine, fully respected in every dish, makes you feel at home, yet always treated with kindness and professionalism. The starters are spectacular, and finally, with Gianluca, the boss, who takes care of the grilled meats, the quality is guaranteed!!!
MUST TRY!

A welcoming place, it truly feels like being back in papal Rome, in an osteria.
The place is small and welcoming, as is the always friendly staff, which isn't surprising given it's a family-run business.
I had a polenta tart with spareribs that could rival the best grandmothers. The house wine is good and leaves no lasting impression.
Other noteworthy features include the open grill, a painting of the Marquis (and if you're from Rome, there's only one Marquis), on-site parking, and plenty of space along the street.
I live in Scotland, and every time I come to Rome, I make sure to eat there at least once.
