You'll find traditional, humble but delicious dishes and excellent wine. The service is excellent. Excellent value for money.

I couldn't have asked for anything better: an excellent traditional lunch, excellent value for money, and attentive and warm staff. I'd say having lunch there is almost a must if you're in Benevento. Highly recommended.

While in Benevento with my family, I searched the previous few days for a restaurant offering traditional Benevento cuisine. My search led me to Locanda Scialapopolo, a wonderful discovery in the heart of Benevento. It's a small, intimate, and clean restaurant, family-run. The atmosphere is unique thanks to the decor, which showcases the strong Benevento character, rooted in local history, with photos of Benevento depicting the famous Arch of Trajan, tributes to Totò, ancient kitchen utensils, and local folklore. For example, a broom, the kind we collectively associate with witches, hangs from the ceiling. It offers excellent traditional cuisine, using fresh ingredients and dishes that reflect tradition, seasonality, and holidays, such as the Halloween-themed pumpkin witches' soup, served directly from a small pot. The Scialapopolo and Antica appetizers are delicious and generous; one portion is plenty for two. The first courses are simply spectacular, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The service is impeccable: the owner is welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, but never intrusive. The prices are more than fair. Be warned: there are only a few tables, and reservations are essential: even on a Monday, it was packed. Highly recommended!

Ricotta ravioli with Annurca apples...amazing!!!! I'd like to reiterate that this restaurant is exceptional, with natural, local products and excellent, high-quality traditional cuisine.

The owner is a very kind and, above all, friendly person. The waitress is always smiling and, above all, good at satisfying the customer. Excellent food 😋. Old-fashioned quality. Small but cute location. I will definitely be back.
