Fantastic place in Benevento. The owner is a hoot, I could have stayed hours and hours listening to him, he talked about his family, memories with his parents and also explained the traditions of Benevento through the dishes. The food is nothing to say, the portions are very generous and it is all very good. I give 4 stars only for the waiter, she should learn to smile a little more and be as kind as the owner.

Helped by TripAdvisor, my husband and I decided to try this inn. We were greeted by a nice and affable young lady, even though we hadn't booked, she made us sit at a table. He explained to us the menu made up of simple but revisited dishes, close to the local tradition, but really good. Excellent service, quick and without frills, but with a lot of friendliness and kindness. Excellent dishes and absolutely fair and affordable prices. They change the menu every week, but if you happen upon the pasta with aubergine ragout and salted ricotta, take it without thinking twice. We recommend this inn to anyone who wants to eat well and have a lot of friendliness in return. Thank you for the wonderful experience, if we return to Benevento, the Locanda Scialapopolo will certainly be our stop. Ad maiora

Abbiamo scoperto questa locanda per caso, di passaggio a Benevento, e che fortuna! Il proprietario ci ha accolti con calore e gentilezza, facendoci sentire immediatamente a nostro agio, proprio come a casa. Il cibo è semplicemente straordinario, ma una menzione speciale va al Cardone Beneventano, un piatto che racchiude tutta la tradizione e il sapore di questa terra. Consigliatissimo a chiunque cerchi un'esperienza autentica e familiare. Torneremo sicuramente!"

Locanda semplice e graziosa che ha il sapore di altri tempi. mi accoglie all'ingresso il gentilissimo e premoroso padrone di casa che, dopo avermi fatto accomodare in uno dei suoi tavoli, mi racconta, con dovizia di particolari, tutti i piatti del menù. Inutile dire che sono tutti piatti della tradizione beneventana, eseguiti con amore e maestria, con ricette originali di decenni fa. I sapori hanno accesso in me ricordi d'infanzia: le domeniche passate a pranzo dalla nonna. Sapori ormai scomparsi, insieme ai ricordi. Lo consiglio vivamente a tutti quelli che, per un motivo o per l'altro si trovano a passare per Benevento.
