in Benevento for a fair, we had dinner with a colleague: fantastic!!! Excellent food, the innkeeper was a dream! He also made our dinner a story, he explained each dish on the menu, he explained the choice of that menu and gave us impeccable advice. The place is not big, but this also contributes to making it unique.
We had an Antica and a Cassetta Scialapopolo as an appetizer, two Lardiata (pennette with bacon fat, tomato, chili pepper) as a first course, and the babà...fantastic, little to add

Sono venuto da Bologna per visitare la Campania ed oggi Benevento. Siamo capitati in questa locanda di cui avevo visto ottime recensioni. Abbiamo mangiato divinamente! Un antipasto, due primi e un secondo fatto dalla simpaticissima cuoca a cui ho fatto personalmente i miei complimenti. Da tanti anni non mangiavo così bene. Grazie anche al proprietario che ci ha raccontato con pazienza i piatti della locanda e ci ha fatto sentire come a casa. Se tornerò a Benevento non mancherò di venirvi a trovare per gustare i sapori della vostra terra. Grazie !

A truly genuine inn, run by a loving and passionate family. Mr. Alfonso, the owner, is an extremely kind and easy-going person, he immediately manages to make you feel at home as part of their family. The menu is inspired by traditional popular cuisine, made of simple, quality raw materials, then cooked by expert hands. The place is small but Mr. Alfonso will try to please everyone and make everyone feel at ease. In my life, I have seen few places managed with so much passion, in every aspect. I strongly recommend this place to those looking for dishes and people that warm the heart.

Abbiamo scoperto questa locanda per caso, di passaggio a Benevento, e che fortuna! Il proprietario ci ha accolti con calore e gentilezza, facendoci sentire immediatamente a nostro agio, proprio come a casa. Il cibo è semplicemente straordinario, ma una menzione speciale va al Cardone Beneventano, un piatto che racchiude tutta la tradizione e il sapore di questa terra. Consigliatissimo a chiunque cerchi un'esperienza autentica e familiare. Torneremo sicuramente!"
