We ate at the restaurant in the evening and had a delicious no-yeast pizza, and the meat selection was also highly recommended. We received a friendly welcome and were served well. The ambiance is very nice. The view of the pool at dusk was particularly beautiful. The wine offered complemented the meal perfectly. While you're there, it's worth walking up to the church, behind which you'll find a fantastic view of the lake.

A lovely, relaxing weekend. The inn and rooms were lovely, and the pool area and outdoor restaurant were very nice. We had dinner, and everything was very good. The breakfast was truly excellent, with a very rich and varied buffet.

We stayed one night at Locanda San Marco in Pai and had a wonderful time. The hotel has very comfortable rooms with everything you need (we only needed a refrigerator, and I don't know if other rooms have one, but it's not essential). The property is fantastic, with a bar, restaurant, and heated pool (with a hot tub). All overlooking the lake. The food at the restaurant is excellent (the grilled lake fish is excellent), and the breakfast is spectacular. But the real plus of the property is the staff, who welcome everyone with a smile and make them feel right at home. Truly friendly in every way. Highly recommended!

At first glance, Locanda San Marco looks like a small, rustic hotel, but don't let that fool you. The hotel is very modern and features beautiful, comfortable rooms with stunning lake views. We traveled as a couple with our (large!) dog, which was absolutely no problem. He was even allowed to come to breakfast and dinner. A few meters from the hotel is a small meadow suitable for dogs to do their business. You can also walk along the street, where there are plenty of opportunities for a short stroll. We were able to park for free in the hotel's underground garage and drive in and out as we pleased. The town of Pai itself is very small, but very beautiful and quiet. The only thing you might occasionally notice is the church bell, but it's definitely not a distraction. The internet reception is not very good, but that's a pleasant change. In this small village, you can definitely relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life. From the hotel, you can reach the lake within a 10-minute walk, where there are several restaurants right on the water that we highly recommend. Swimming in the lake is also possible at various locations. Excursions by car from Pai to Bardolino, Malcesine, Lazise, ​​or Sirmione are also quickly doable. If you just want to relax by the pool or in the whirlpool, the San Marco is also a great place to do that. Even if you're alone at the pool, someone always comes and asks if you want a drink. Drinks are often brought to the pool. The hotel also has a terrace with a trampoline, a foosball table, a small ping-pong table, and plenty of seating – perfect for children, but we even had a few games here 😃 The service here is simply excellent! Aside from the aforementioned "pool service," great attention is also paid to ensuring everything is in order and whether any drink requests are met. You can enjoy lunch and dinner either inside or outside in the restaurant, with a stunning view of Lake Garda. It's also possible to sit in the hotel's own bar on the market square. The food at the hotel's own Pifari restaurant is simply fantastic. We ate dinner there three times, and it was one of the best restaurants we've visited on this vacation (I'm still raving about the delicious lasagna). Breakfast was also sumptuous, with homemade scrambled eggs, a daily changing selection of cakes, pancakes, rolls, sausage, cheese, everything your heart desires, and of course, a perfect cappuccino. There was also a barbecue on Sundays, which we unfortunately didn't try, but the aroma alone was enough to speak for itself. We also indulged in ice cream several times, which, like everything else, was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is simply fantastic, and we recommend everyone to eat there! (There's also a pizzeria directly across the street - but we can also highly recommend the tarte flambée at San Marco ;) ) The hotel owner, Carlotta, is a super nice, funny woman, and you can tell how much love she puts into the hotel and the service. She always provided us with delicious long drinks, was always open to questions and fun to be around, and even kept us supplied with drinks late into the evening, even though we were the last guests in the bar. Therefore, we can't understand some of the negative reviews! We simply had a wonderful and relaxing holiday here! It was even better than we imagined, and it certainly won't be the last time we stay at the Locanda San Marco. We even received a small farewell gift and water for our drive home, which is something we absolutely cannot take for granted and which we were very happy about! Many, many thanks to Carlotta and her fantastic team for everything. It was wonderful and hard to describe in words!

A beautiful little hotel with an owner who loves her job. She speaks Italian, English, and German. The rooms are super clean, and if you're lucky, you'll even have a lake view. The pool and whirlpool are also very nice.

Spent 5 days here on holiday. It was a lovely hotel. The breakfast was excellent. We ate there a few times in the evening, and it was also very good. The hostess is very friendly and speaks good English and German. It's nice and quiet in and around the hotel. The hotel is located on a small village square where there's also a pizzeria where you can also enjoy a delicious meal. Definitely worth a visit.

It's a dream place with great value for money! Crystal-clear pool water. The village is fabulous. We've been there twice and will be back!

Great hotel with new and cozy rooms (we've lived in a room with a view to a pool). Host is very hospital. Warmed pool in which together with sun bathing you could spend whole day 😉 View to the lake is wonderful. Hotel is up from the main road with a steady hill, so most comfortable way to reach this hotel is with a car, as also parking is provided. There are plenty of things to do for kids (e.g. foosball table, ping pong table, trampoline, kids play corner). Breakfast is good (e.g. fresh apple juice or tasty coffee (not typical cheap tastless machine). No mini fridge in a room could be seen as a missing piece, but host would help you and could allow you to leave some stuff in their fridge (if you are travelling and have some products that need a fridge). Again, sunset to the mountains and lake from a terrace looked realy beautiful.

Very nice location, high up with a pleasant view of the lake. It's still quiet and relaxing. We had lunch at the hotel restaurant, and the service was impeccable, even though we were a group of 12 friends. The staff is very kind, the menu is varied, and all the dishes were enjoyed (even by the 2 children). The price was more than fair. Highly recommended!!!

We're currently at the hotel and have nothing but positive things to say. Beautiful rooms, a great pool, and a magnificent view! Our dog is welcome, and we all feel at home. The food is delicious.
