Locanda della Regina: Wonderful location, elegant yet familiar hospitality, and a la carte selection, which is not a given during these holidays. The menu is not overly exaggerated, but just the right amount of essentials. We ordered three appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, and three desserts. The food was all delicious, with flavorful and tender meat. The fish dish was excellent, spaghetti with clams, revisited with parsley, good but a bit risky for some palates. The traditional veal with tuna sauce was excellent. The wine was amazing, a white from the Langhe, reasonably priced—in fact, we ordered two. The artisanal bread. The desserts were superb. Amaro San Simon, a typical Piedmontese liqueur, was complimentary for the first round, and was delicious. We treated ourselves to a Ferragosto holiday that we will fondly remember, and we discovered a little place in Turin that will become familiar and we will frequent often.
