Locanda del Colonnello In Modica

Very nice and well-kept place located in upper Modica. Sicilian cuisine revisited in a modern key. The wine cellar is interesting. Very attentive and friendly service. Advised.

We, a family of four, ordered different courses which we shared between us. Truffles pasta was absolutely the best order and was probably the best I ever had. The other courses were also very good and well cooked. The service was impeccable.

Well below our expectations. We chose the tasting with the 4-course "whole portion" option and we were a little disappointed by the choices that the chef made (for example as an appetizer an onion with mustard...however good an onion always is). The flavor of the embers in the dish with cuttlefish and lettuce tasted like "gas" or at least chemical and was excessively persistent (even there: lettuce and squid on the grill......we wouldn't have chosen it). However, some dishes were eaten even if we would not have chosen them and we had almost nothing left over. The nice environment and the super staff. To try à la carte, I do not recommend the 4-course tasting.

The garden is very beautiful. The idea of ​​Sicily as an entrée is nice. As first courses we tried the tagliatelle with ricotta, tenerumi and cuttlefish and the spaghetti with anciova: good although I would have liked to taste more of the fish. However, the land appetizer "the ricotta soup" was very successful: a riot of flavours! The wine list was also interesting, even if the one we chose was hot and so we waited a bit for them to cool it down before serving it to us.

Young and ambitious place that still needs to grow. The dishes described in the menu do not quite keep their promises in terms of taste despite the quality raw materials: everything was a bit off. The service needs improvement (some guys are more attentive, some less - not knowing what's on the plate you bring to the table is unacceptable). Overall recommended for a quiet evening without too many expectations.

It's a shame because the place is nice and the service is attentive but for what you pay we hoped it would be a higher level. It must have been an unlucky evening. However, creamed cod is something else. It's okay to vary but the variations must be good

Excellent tasting itinerary with a combination of wines. Dishes with character and decisive. Very prepared service and perfect location.

Intimate, elegant, essential. Kindness of the staff, thanks in particular to the girl who was very sweet with our two year old daughter.. Refined combination of flavors and excellent raw materials. A very pleasant evening.

Cibo molto buono, personale gentile e super attento alle nostre esigenze. Cocktail favolosi. Location ben curata. Una piacevole sorpresa!
