07/08/2024: A place now famous throughout the Bergamo area which does not betray expectations in terms of quality. However, I found myself not particularly appreciating the service, more in the sales approach than anything else. The owner/substitutes know what they're doing, they know how to decorate their meat and wine offerings like I've seen done very few times, but with an insistence that I found quite cloying, bordering on unpleasant. I understand the desire and need to push their "flesh" (because calling it meat is not in fashion), but even responding almost piqued and annoyed if instead of meat you lean towards a first course or something else I find it truly inappropriate. First of all because these things are on the menu, so if you don't want to serve them don't even offer them (among other things they tell me that casoncelli are a source of pride, but if you prefer them to fat they get annoyed). Secondly, on the sign I read "trattoria", not steakhouse, not grill, not churrascaria or butcher's shop with refreshments. For me, trattoria means tradition, simplicity and above all promotion of the territory, something that inevitably you can't find in their opulent ribs, which are very good, but have nothing of Bergamo about them.
I repeat, there is no harm in pushing a product which, among other things, certainly makes them earn a lot, but even getting annoyed if I prefer a plate of casoncelli and a platter of cured meats and cheeses to a 2.5 kg rib I find it absurd. Even more so if it's not even the first time you've come there to eat and you would like to try something else besides this blessed meat. An attitude, moreover, which risks ruining the whole experience which, I repeat, has a lot to offer in terms of quality. Sin
