A classic trattoria in the Reggio Emilia Apennines... in some ways still stuck in the past, but I think that's its strength. Family-run, friendly, and VERY fast service. The portions are VERY generous, and the price is fair for what you get.
I'll finish with the quality: excellent.
You absolutely must try the cappellacci with wild boar ragù or the game.
The only downside: it takes a while to get here, so be patient.
RESERVATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL; they're never full!

You always leave your heart at this restaurant...the food evokes an emotion of unique flavors...it's a perfect place for a peaceful lunch or dinner. During the warmer months, there are wooden gazebos where you can eat outside, as well as a garden...it's also ideal for ceremonies. We had our wedding there years ago, and over the years, the aesthetics and space have improved, but the food has never changed, always perfect, and the prices are very reasonable.
I'm adding today, February 23rd...I'm adding photos of the tortelli that I didn't like last time. Today I had the quatris of tortelli with mushroom and ragù sauce. The ragù was divine, perfect for mopping up the sauce. For dessert, I always make a mix of small pieces, and there was the apple pie...I even took it home to my grandfather, the cream and the apples were super.

An old-fashioned atmosphere that you won't find anymore.
The dishes are generous, but so good you can finish them (divine tortelli).
The price is right!!
Now I understand why it's always packed!!! Highly recommended 😋

P.S. The guanciale is fantastic, like everything else! But above all, he's the cake in the cellar!!!!!!!

Four of us dined here, and I must say the experience was truly exceptional in every way. As soon as we arrived, we were struck by the atmosphere: a refined, warm, and welcoming environment that immediately made you feel at home. It's not your typical impersonal restaurant; here, you'll find a family atmosphere that puts you at ease from the first moment.
The staff deserves a special mention; they were all extremely kind, helpful, and always smiling. Not only were they attentive and quick with their service, but they were also friendly and capable of creating a friendly rapport that makes the experience even more enjoyable. It's rare to find staff so knowledgeable and at the same time so human.
The service was extremely fast, without ever making you feel rushed; the dishes arrived on time and always accompanied by a smile. This made the dinner flow smoothly and harmoniously, allowing us to enjoy every moment in total relaxation.
And then, of course, the food, truly excellent! Dishes prepared with quality ingredients, cooked with care and passion. Each course was a little journey of flavors, balanced and authentic, just as you'd expect. The generous portions, the homely presentation, and the surprising taste won over everyone at the table.
In conclusion, we can't recommend this place highly enough, perfect for a dinner with friends or a special evening. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back soon, because places like this truly deserve a visit. Kudos to the entire staff for their professionalism and attention to detail.

Worth it! Beautiful place, great food for a reasonable price. Generous portions, and friendly, helpful staff. Lounge chairs, ping pong, and table football are available for guests. I'll be back!

Un piccolo angolo di pace immerso nel verde dell’Appennino: "Liva e i suoi sapori" è una vera scoperta per chi cerca tranquillità, cucina genuina e un’atmosfera familiare.
Il ristorante si trova circondato dalla natura, ideale per staccare la spina e godersi un momento di relax. Fin dal primo momento si respira un’aria accogliente, grazie a un servizio caloroso che fa sentire subito a casa.
Il menù è un omaggio alla tradizione emiliana: piatti gustosi, preparati con ingredienti semplici ma di qualità, cucinati con passione e rispetto per le ricette di una volta. Dai salumi, primi piatti come tortelli, cappellacci e tagliatelle, vari secondi come capriolo e cinghiale in umido, scaloppine, coniglio arrosto, fino ai dolci, ogni portata racconta il sapore autentico del territorio.
Dopo l’antipasto servito dalla casa (gnocco fritto, salame, coppa e polenta fritta) abbiamo preso un bis di tortelli verdi e di cipolla di Tropea, un cappellaccio servito con i funghi. Siamo poi passati al dolce con una zuppa inglese e un semifreddo alla Nutella. Oltre a una bottiglia di acqua e un quartino di vino, abbiamo speso 56€.
Un posto dove tornare volentieri.

Ho pranzato in questo ristorante potendo apprezzare i cibi nostrani e caratteristici del posto. Specialità sono i tortelli che si possono trovare anche in vendita nei negozi della zona; buonissimi ma particolare apprezzamento per quelli di zucca. Ottimi anche i secondi con particolare menzione per il coniglio. Bel posto dove si può passare una giornata all'aperto in quanto in mezzo alla natura.
