Little Italy In Tropea

The food and drinks were great! The staff was watching the game Juventus vs Torino, distracted but fun to watch with the locals. Really yummy pizza. We were off season so quiet.

The calamari and octopus are delicious, I highly recommend them. Fresh, quick, and delicious :)

We had an excellent meal here at a reasonable price. Absolutely no complaints. Which made me look deeper at the two one star reviews, which obviously showed they were written by the same malicious (and possibly non-existent) person! So don't be deterred, I assure you that this is a high quality restaurant.

Friendly service and excellent seafood, pizza and eggplant with parmesan. Pitcher of white wine just average.

The octopus was excellent, and the noodles with gamberini rosso that my wife ate were spectacular.

This was recommended for lunch by our B&B owner. We weren't disappointed as the food was excellent. Top quality, authentic one ofmthe best meals we've had in Italy. It's so good, we're definitely going back for dinner before we leave Tropea.

A very pleasant evening. We originally went to another place, but we are glad we came here. The food was perfect, the service was very nice. We chose it. Just count copperto even for a small child. But it was worth it. The little one was excited and satisfied.

Ristorante in pieno centro a Tropea. Non abbiamo mangiato pizza perché il pizzaiolo era assente (correttamente ci hanno avvisato sulla soglia). Piatti abbondanti e ben cucinati. Non velocissimo il servizio nonostante i camerieri siano stati gentili e disponibili. Conto giusto. Vale la pena provarlo

This restaurant is a dream come true for those with serious food allergies or food intolerances. It's not very easy to find restaurants that make you feel very safe about eating out when you have allergies. A different restaurant near this one had a menu posted outside the restaurant and (in fine print) it said : "All menu items may have trace contamination or all allergens." That's not welcoming at all. Little Italy was so different. We asked staff if they could accommodate my child's allergies and mine... and they welcomed us. I used Google Translate to make sure there was no confusion about communicating our allergies. My son was told that he was safe to order the food he wanted but to be extra careful, they wouldn't add bread crumbs. For me, I told them that I would let them decide which we're the best/easiest to prepare for me. (I have an allergy to shellfish.) They took great care to prepare the meals for the 2 of us with allergies. Beginning to end they were prepared with care... ingredients prepared specifically for our meals by the owner/head chef. I had never had the pasta with onions... and with the first bite... I think it was the BEST pasta I had ever eaten... in my life! Absolutely delicious!!! I thanked the server and asked what was in it to make it taste SO GOOD! He sent out Francesco... who was the chef that prepared it. We had a lovely conversation. It was very clear that he knew how serious allergies are and understood the care required to prepare safe meals by avoiding cross-contamination. He said that he had already had 15 guests with allergies dine there that evening and it is their goal to make sure they welcome everyone and meet their dietary needs. He has family members with allergies and knows the challenges. He did say it's easier for him if guests with allergies dine around 7-730pm or after 9-9:30pm... because he basically puts everything else on hold in the kitchen to focus on the allergy concerns. It's more difficult to do during peak meal service... and it was great for him to share that information with us. He said we could go back again and he would be able to prepare almost any item on the menu safely & make necessary safe substitutions as needed. It was an amazing experience for us... relaxed environment, welcoming serving staff, knowledgeable and caring chef... and most of all... DELICIOUS FOOD!!!! YUM!😋 (The 3 others without allergies all loved their meals too!) Thanks to the staff at Little Italy in Tropea!!!❤️
