Fantastic experience, even though we know choosing Melia is a guarantee, our stay in Rome was beautiful despite the challenging weather. I recommend everyone to pamper themselves in the spa, it's amazing, and the fantastic plus is the lovely staff, and Sara is fantastic. She gave us the best advice, and that's exactly what happened. Let Sara pamper you, you won't regret it. The staff throughout the hotel is wonderful, with high-level service. I recommend everyone to try it.

A bit disapponting experience, below expectations. Great property with all the facilities you may expect (I loved the pool and outdoor seatings). Rooms are small and bathroom not really guests friendly. Service is good but a bit disorganised sometimes and not enough focused (they messed up with our suitcase during check-out). Concierge not really friendly & helpful (they are just busy typing on their computer). Be careful to the 5% tips added at the end of your bill, quite surprising!

The hotel is quite good; we often stay at Meliá hotels. However, we booked a king-size bed and were given a tiny room with a tiny bed. They changed it the next day, which saved our stay. Anyone can make a mistake. The most important thing is knowing how to fix it. The breakfast is rather poor, but we didn't come here specifically for that…

My wife and I stayed at the Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá during the third leg of our honeymoon, and we were extremely happy with our decision to stay here. We arrived in Rome early in the morning after an overnight flight and were dropped off by our car service at the hotel. Our check-in agent, Thomas, let us know that standard check-in was later in the afternoon, but for a €100 fee, they could have our room cleaned and ready for early access. After a long flight and early morning travel, this was well worth it and allowed us to freshen up and rest before heading out to explore the city. The location of this property is excellent—very close to the Vatican and close enough to comfortably walk to all of Rome’s major sites. No matter where we explored during our three days in the city, the walk back to the hotel was never more than about two miles, which made getting around incredibly convenient. The rooms were excellent: spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Food and drinks throughout the property were impeccable, and the service was truly outstanding. Every staff member we interacted with was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the entire stay feel elevated. We traveled during the New Year holiday, and the hotel’s proximity to a popular local park gave us the chance to participate in a unique experience—watching fireworks alongside locals after a short 15-minute walk up the hill. It was a memorable way to celebrate and something we wouldn’t have experienced without staying in this location. Overall, we were very impressed with the quality of the staff and the level of service throughout our stay. When we return to Rome in the future, we will absolutely be staying at the Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá again.

The hotel is in a great location and is beautiful, with generally good service. We booked through British Airways Holidays with a premier room and noticed that guests who book via third parties do not seem to receive the best rooms. The room we were initially given was very dark and faced another building, which was quite disappointing. The photos on the website are misleading, as the Premier and Deluxe rooms are much darker than advertised. We had to pay an additional €50 per night to move to another room in the same category with a view (Got room with a view of the high way and bit of river 😞). For a five-star hotel at this price point, the breakfast was very average. Aside from the scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages on the buffet, the selection was limited, and if you ask for fried eggs required an extra charge. We stayed for three nights and had exactly the same breakfast each day, which became quite disappointing. We also had the Christmas brunch, priced at €80 per person. The buffet was basic, the desserts were acceptable (noticed that they have recycled some from the breakfast buffet), but the starter and main courses were extremely underwhelming. It was one of the most disappointing Christmas meals we’ve had in a long time, and it felt like a complete waste of money. The only real positives were the friendly restaurant staff and the good coffee. Finally, adding a 5% service charge to the final bill without clearly mentioning it and asking for consent at checkout was very uncomfortable and an unpleasant surprise. Overall, while the hotel is beautiful and well-located, the experience did not meet expectations, and unfortunately, I would not recommend it to friends.
