Lido San Basilio In Melendugno

Beautiful lido, fairly large beach, gorgeous sea, not very convenient to get to, because you have to cross a small stretch of narrow and crowded beach coming from the parking lot, the staff was very kind, the only downside was the restaurant prices, in my opinion a bit too high... even if it's now a widespread "fashion" everywhere to raise prices.

I am writing this review while lying on a very comfortable sun lounger with a headrest cushion at this wonderful beach. Everything is perfect. We are staying in a village in Torre Saracena, but the beaches of Torre dell'Orso are not accessible to dogs. We therefore came here with our puppy because this beach is pet friendly. Our Holly was welcomed by Peppa, a very sweet 13-year-old puppy of the owners of the beach, good, discreet and reserved. The beach is very beautiful aesthetically, furnished with great taste; all the staff are exquisite, friendly and professional. The restaurant is excellent. The umbrellas are placed at a reasonable distance, unlike those of the Caribbean beach in Salento, for example, where there is no living space and people are crowded together. The music that the owners play is perfect for relaxing. The other customers all seem well-disposed towards dogs, most of whom have had to deal with ours have been welcoming and affectionate. I would like to make just one point, which does not undermine the judgment of the beach: ask the lifeguards to have more respect for their own beach, the station is full of cigarette butts thrown on the sand and waste. Also take advantage of the indulgence of the sea. I have taken several walks on this stretch of shoreline up to Mora Mora on days of north wind and it hurts my heart to see that no one deigns to collect all the waste and plastic that the sea returns to us and with which we are destroying it, in the total indifference of most of the customers. In an hour I collected an impressive amount of plastic, at least you and the adjacent beaches should commit to collecting as much as possible, since the sea gives us this opportunity despite us.

Very friendly service. Free parking on the road. Prices are reasonable. The beach is continuously cleaned. Everything that washes up is removed.
