They tell me it's under new management, but the amberjack and coffee are still excellent.

With the change of management, I find that the quality of both sweet and savory pastries has dropped, as has the service, the overall atmosphere seems a little less refined. The location of the bar/pastry shop and restaurant is the best in the city.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and charming, and the prices are excellent for a place in the center of Ferrara. The two young waiters are extremely kind, but the only flaw was the older waitress. We ordered two platters, two spritzes, and two beers. Everything was written down on a handwritten note, which was also updated by our colleagues as we ordered. After paying the bill, for the correct total, the older waitress took our receipt and brought it back to the cashier several times to check if we had paid the bill correctly, even though her colleagues had added the orders multiple times. This was not a very nice gesture toward the waiter in front of the customer, and especially toward the customer! The food wasn't bad, but after this experience, we definitely won't be returning.

The staff are friendly and cheerful, despite the café being always crowded. A must-visit in Ferrara for a sweet or savory breakfast. Every croissant is fresh and delicious. They also have a wide selection of savory options. Don't miss the amberjack and risino!

I often pass by Leon D'oro, and every time I've been there, I've always had a great experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is friendly and fast. I've had breakfast with friends and alone (the prices are decent to average). I once took relatives for lunch, and we were satisfied (especially when they served us when most places weren't open). The dishes were truly tasty, and the prices, again, were reasonable. Perhaps the negative reviews are due to the service on some occasions; my experience was positive.
