Leon D'oro In Ferrara

Pleasant dinner for two. Everything was excellent, just not too much choice of dishes, perhaps the menu was too limited. However the meat dishes were exquisite.

The restaurant is a traditional house in Ferrara, it is a café and not one! Restaurants (so don't eat here) where the "Ferraresi" like to go and where all the Ferrarese specialties are available in the classic and traditional form. The Pampapato (Ferrarese Christmas cake), for example, is sold here. In the morning, a "pasta" e.g. the Ricciolina (sweet or savory baked goods for breakfast) - enjoyed at the counter with a cappuccino or an aperitif you should have had here while staying in Ferrara. In winter you should you can try the hot cocoa with cream, and in summer you can have a spritz on the terrace of the small piazza at the town hall behind the restaurant. Prices are higher than average, however the quality is right. Lively and loud!

I like everything about this pastry shop. The service is excellent, you feel at home. As soon as when you enter you feel surrounded by the scent of good things from times gone by. It is truly a wonderful place. The brioches in particular are incredibly good 😋. Soft and fluffy they make you smell the scent of tradition. Keep it up

Historic Ferrara venue that enjoys a truly enviable position in front of the cathedral. Quick and friendly service with excellent value for money.

I went years ago and the service was great.

We had lunch here, excellent pasta with a mixed salad.
