Warmly welcomed and pampered throughout lunch. Impeccable presentation with the description of each course: the dishes look like real art paintings. What can we say about the taste: everything is delicious from the entrée to the desserts with fresh, quality products.

Exceptional restaurant. You immediately perceive the environment with attention to detail, scented and with an extraordinary welcome.
As soon as you sit at the table you are pampered by an entrée, different types of bread, and then the menu with truly unique flavours.
My most sincere compliments to Chef Norman for his extreme competence and knowledge in creating dishes easily comparable to those with a Michelin star.
A heartfelt thank you to the sommelier Elisabetta for her solid skills on the wines paired with the various dishes.
We will be back, I highly recommend!

Having only tried the restaurant, I confirm that it has truly exceptional cuisine, albeit with a young staff, we were a table of several people with a choice of different dishes, all presented and prepared impeccably, with top quality products.
It was a truly excellent dinner by all accounts.
Highly recommended and we will certainly return as soon as possible.

For this gastronomic investigation Watson had to rely only on his own strength as I was unable to leave Novara. So the dear doctor devoted himself to an investigation that took him all the way to Val Vigezzo and precisely to Toceno. Here he was able to inspect in disguise, the B&B "Le vie del borgo" which includes the restaurant "La locanda", a small pearl set among the mountains where the dishes are the result of a combination of tradition and modernity. The place is welcoming as is the staff and everything is looked after and well maintained (which is not easy in the mountains where weather events always make careful maintenance necessary). The wine list presented at Watson is interesting: local and international wines with formats from half a bottle to magnum; from here the doctor chooses a half bottle of Dolcetto from the Marchesi di Barolo with which he savors an entrée based on gorgonzola in mousse and red beetroot on a polenta wafer. The starter is no small feat: veal rump with spumoncini tuna sauce, capers, anchovies and sprouts. Here a splendid selection of the most varied breads comes to the rescue, all produced internally and accompanied by mountain butter. First course: potato gnocchi and mountain cheese with toasted raw ham. Followed by glazed guinea fowl with its cooking sauce. Ice cream petals with crunchy hazelnuts and crumbled chocolate are the dessert at the end of the lunch. The coffee is accompanied by dry pastries. Everything is delicious and the environment and the view make Doctor Watson's lunch even more enjoyable, awarding 5 stars to La Locanda di Toceno where he paid a bill of €83.50.

a wonderful experience. This restaurant is charming, the service is attentive and not intrusive. The food is a poem. There is absolutely NOTHING we can say that wouldn't have been right, thank you for a great day. I'm vegan, for me there were 3 courses that were simply fantastic for the eye and the palate
