Excellent trattoria, exactly what you expect and hope to find in vacation spots. Really typical and excellent quality cuisine. The service is familiar, puts you at ease and makes your stay even more pleasant. I absolutely recommend the strascinati and the rustic house dessert "le rocce". We will definitely return and to the young owner, who with great commitment and courage carries on the business, I invite you to continue on the path taken because you will receive great satisfaction.

The itinerant journey in the basilica is a journey through time, in a not so distant past that made us what we are. Stopping to eat at the small restaurant Le Rocce means completing this journey: eating food with ancient flavors, but with attention to detail; being served by kind and easy-going people. And finally, having a chat to share a love for the land that turns into unique dishes.

After a camper tour in this region immersed in nature we had lunch by chance in this restaurant ‘’ dulcis in fundo’’ excellent dishes in perfect balance between taste and tradition with genuine products at km 00. We spent three days in Pietrapertosa and ate here three times because the food is simply delicious and typical. I travel a lot in Italy, and restaurants like this are becoming increasingly rare: where you can get simple, typical local traditional dishes of superb quality. The ravioli with ricotta were heaven on earth, and everything else was also excellent. My special requests for vegetarian variations were naturally accommodated. My traveling companion was also enthusiastic about the meat. Regarding the negative reviews here: yes, the portions aren't big enough for a lumberjack, but two or three courses will fill you up. The prices are more than fair: €25 for the tasting menu with antipasti, two small pasta portions, and dessert variations (but without drinks) is by no means excessive, especially for this quality, and you'll be full afterward, too. The only drawback: the dining room is a bit dark inside, but the terrace is a lovely place to sit. And the tiramisu was a bit dry. The other desserts were better.

We are happy to have found this "jewel" of a restaurant in the heart of Pietrapertosa. We went there for dinner three nights in a row and tried almost the entire menu. Everything was delicious! The house wine was excellent, as were the desserts. But the best of all was the service provided by Giacomo, Antonia, Stefano and Manuela, the family that owns this restaurant. We felt like family, like guests sharing their culinary experience. They are all very kind and charming people. It is impossible to forget their smiles and their looks, typical of people of great value and genuineness. The place itself makes you feel at home. A beautiful, simple and very welcoming place. When you find a place like this, there is no need to look for another restaurant. You are "called" to go there every night. I hope we will return to Pietrapertosa because we want to return to "Le Rocco" to live a beautiful experience that transcends the culinary aspect and reaches the human one. E' difficile che noi si sia trovato un ristorante dove, appena sulla soglia, vieni avvolto da una serie di profumi e di aromi che ti proiettano indietro nel tempo, quando le cucine erano a legna e i tegami di creta delicatamente incrostati della semplicità contadina di utilizzare tutto ciò che "rumina" in libertà o cresce spontaneo attorno alla tua casa, frutto di dedicazione, sudore e lavoro. Ti siedi, in un ambiente che ricorda le semplici dimore dei tuoi nonni, tavoli che non sono isole, ma sufficientemente vicini per incontrare con lo sguardo tutti i tuoi " fratelli" commensali. Questa ultima annotazione rispecchia la filosofia del locale: tutti sono uguali, tutti ascoltano i dettagliatissimi consigli del maestro di sala, tutti contrattano il menù, praticamente, con tutti, e tutti ammiccano verso l'altro tavolo in segno di accordo. Poi, dalle cucine, appare, rapidissimamente, la cuoca che porta fin sulla tavola quello che ha cucinato: stupendo! Sughi meravigliosi e meravigliosamente sinceri, coronamento di orecchiette, strascinati, tagliatelle ed altra pasta fatta rigorosamente in casa, come recitano le mani della cuoca, a ben vedere, ancora incipriate di farina. E poi, le carni, a chilometro zero, servite, se vuoi (così abbiamo scelto noi), con delle erbette " selvatiche" ripassate in padella, che valgono da sole tutto il pranzo. Ci siamo alzati da tavola con la voglia di abbracciare tutti coloro che lavorano in questo ristorante uno ad uno, e ringraziarli di tanto bellissimo calore. Superlativo.
