We spent the 15th anniversary lunch at Macine del Monte Croce: it was a fantastically romantic experience with high quality food!
Recommended for romantic events or candlelit dinners. The location is beautiful, very characteristic with the bridge and the mill wheel in operation, all surrounded by the sound of the water in the background 😍
The owners Luca and Samantha are very hospitable people and full of passion for their business!
The cuisine is fantastic because it combines excellent raw materials that are cooked in a way that enhances the flavors of Tuscan tradition in an innovative way.

Unique place.
Le Macine del Monte Croce is not a farmhouse or a restaurant... it is an enchanted place with a stream that runs through the property crossed by an ancient stone bridge and a mill wheel that works with water, another dimension..🤩
It is a naturalistic astroculinary conjunction that makes you feel immersed in nature.
Having lunch with the sweet melody of the stream with the solo chord of the water wheel that is heard every now and then, combined with the singing of the birds, the greenery that surrounds you and all crowned by excellent cuisine and with very good raw materials, most of which are produced on site... it is not a lunch or a dinner... but an extrasensory experience..
We were there for our 15th wedding anniversary and we recommend it for romantic occasions...
Not only will we return, but it will be our point of reference for both Garfagnana and Versilia.

We were at this restaurant yesterday where we were waiting to stop after a walk on the Croce on the occasion of the daffodils blooming. We realized the mistake of having waited so long. The experience of the restaurant alone is worth the trip, without waiting for the daffodils to bloom.
We fortunately arrived for lunch and were amazed by the beauty and care of the place, where you can see all the work and great commitment that is behind it. A small jewel that aims to offer excellent modern quality very tied to tradition with products of their own production or from small local businesses. We opted for the light tasting menu with paired wine tasting, which included a mix of appetizers, a trio of first courses and dessert, with abundant courses that made us leave the table more than full.
The service was also excellent, allowing us to know in detail the care of each dish and the history of the place where we were.
Also recommended for families and again compliments to the owners. Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the area.
We will definitely be back.

Posto del cuore, siamo andati settimana scorsa a cena dopo una escursione sul monte croce e siamo tornati oggi a pranzo prima di scalare il monte Nona. Che dire.. location da favola con un mulino esterno che rende tutto più magico, il cibo è strepitoso e l'accoglienza e la gentilezza sono all'ordine del giorno.
Non vediamo l'ora di tornare.
Un saluto da Livorno, continuate così ragazzi.

You rarely find a place like this. We took the light menu, which was enough to feed a regiment, and the quality of the raw materials, the flavors, were so authentic that they left us amazed and happy. The only flaw, if we want to look for it, was the service which was a little slow, but so kind and pleasant that the wait was even appreciated. Spectacular place, renovation of the small building worthy of an architecture magazine. Wow!

Truly excellent lunch today at Le Macine restaurant. Exquisite food from start to finish: rich and tasty appetizer, spelled and tortelli with ragù as applause-worthy first courses, roast pork with onions and truly memorable breaded kid rib. To conclude, a delicious mix of desserts. Very kind owners and impeccable service: they even came back several times to ask us if we wanted to do an encore of each course. All the food comes from their farm, a guarantee of quality and authenticity. The restaurant is immersed in a splendid natural setting, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Highly recommended!

Immerso nel verde, circondato da freschi torrenti limpidi e boschi ombreggiati, si trova questo antico mulino ristrutturato con gusto e recupero di vecchi materiali. La sala è intima e invita a rilassarsi, mentre il personale ti accoglie con calore e mille attenzioni (non ultima, averci permesso di entrare con il nostro cagnolino).
La casa propone alcuni menu-degustazione, ma noi abbiamo scelto di ordinare alla carta. L'antipasto toscano comprende crostini e salumi eccellenti provenienti dai propri allevamenti: io credo di aver gustato qui il più buon lardo di sempre. La fonduta di erborinato del Mugello su chips di fromenton 8 file è stata un'esplosione di sapore che difficilmente puoi trovare altrove. Poi abbiamo preso il fritto di pollo e coniglio: molto leggero e porzioni abbondanti, carne di animali allevati da loro, di cui apprezzi tutta la carne bella polposa e infine il contorno di uno sformato di cavolfiore (sempre dalla propria azienda agrituristica) davvero speciale. Per dolce ci sono state *offerte* delle originali e buonissime frittelle di San Giuseppe e ammazzacaffè. Interessante la cantina, con ottimi vini soprattutto della lucchesia e toscani. Escluso il vino, abbiamo speso 30€/persona.
Non è la classica trattoria di campagna né il solito locale da fighetti. Di questo posto abbiamo apprezzato la qualità *assoluta* della materia prima ben sposata con la quantità: ci siamo alzati sazi, non appesantiti, e soprattutto appagati. Per noi era la prima volta in questo remoto paradiso di montagna ma torneremo di sicuro per provare il menu primaverile.
