I recently revisited Hotel Laurino in Moena after more than a decade, opting for the bed and breakfast package. Situated in a strategic location within the town, the hotel stands near regional bus stops offering direct connections from Trento. Notably, one of these routes passes by the Latemar ski resort in Predazzo, while the hotel is also conveniently close to the ski bus service for accessing the Lusia and San Pellegrino ski areas.Upon arrival, I found the staff to be courteous and welcoming. However, the condition of the room left much to be desired. The room appeared somewhat neglected, with noticeable holes in the bathroom walls and missing coat hooks. Additionally, the toilet flush was leaking, and the bathroom door made considerable noise when opening and closing. While the breakfast offered was satisfactory, I observed that some items, such as hard-boiled eggs, were served chilled. Surprisingly, there was an extra charge for quickly prepared hot items like scrambled eggs or toast—a departure from the inclusive buffet offerings found in other hotels across the town.Accessing the ski room involved navigating stairs lacking handrails, and the space was somewhat cramped. Nonetheless, the elevator provided direct access from the floor, mitigating this inconvenience.Regrettably, the most significant drawback of my stay was the disturbance caused by neighboring guests. On the first night, disruptive noise persisted until 2 a.m., followed by a similar disruption at midnight on the fourth and final night. Despite bringing the issue to the attention of the manager multiple times on the initial evening and requesting a room change, no feasible alternatives were available. I would have appreciated even a gesture towards reimbursement. Ideally, swift action against such uncivilized guests, who were easily identifiable, would have been preferable.Undoubtedly, Hotel Laurino presents promising features for consideration when staying in Moena. However, significant improvements are necessary, particularly regarding room refurbishments (shelves, showers, shampoo, shower gel) and adopting a more proactive and stringent policy towards unruly guests.
