Lard Rock Cafe Colonnata In Carrara

Memories from 12 years ago were refreshed. The little shop was still there :) definitely recommended for a little detour, the little hidden gem.

Yesterday we discovered this really cute little place. Let's start with the MERAVIGLIOSO name. After visiting the Fantiscrive quarry we stopped in Colonnata to taste the real Lardo. Informed little place, with a beautiful play list. Starter with two types of vegetable flan, then seasoned peppers, beans and cabbage. The plate of cured meats arrives with his majesty's Colonnata lard in the centre, accompanied by pecorino with pears, bread and sgabei (fried bread dough), all really good. Plus water, sweet wine and coffee. The owner, the cook and the waiter were super nice. Well done, well done.

Spesa minima e massima resa. Salumi,lardo e formaggi accompagnati da panzanelle nel fresco di Colonnata,il tutto in un ambiente amichevole e gentile. Ogni volta è sempre meglio!

Perfect dinning experience with fresh local food at a charming location. They offer a fixed menu with a variation of local meat products, cheese, veggies, bread, pastries, drinks and dessert. The food was delicious and the people running the restaurant were very nice.

A beautiful culinary experience lived here, excellent value for money for €20 per person with sublime lard, the host ready and prepared in a particular place, almost a "time capsule"

Restaurant dedicated, as can be deduced from the name, to Colonnata lard and Apuan cured meats in general, and which offers an all-you-can-eat formula. So expect mountains of excellent lardo, fried dumplings, vegetable pies, vegetables blanched in vinegar and wine. Everything was great and excellent service. It's a shame, however, that when it's time to pay you have to hear the usual tale of the POS not working (and the non-existent receipt).

Really good food! I really recommend the trio of desserts and of course the typical Lardo di colonnata. The service was a little slow and distracted, but for there being only one waiter he did too much. Nice and large environment, shame about the bathroom. Optimal price! Ate very well and quite filling and spent very little, €60 for 3 plus really nice t-shirts!!

Locale situato nel centro di Colonnata, con una gradevole zona all' aperto. Menù a prezzo fisso di 20€ a persona comprendente: tagliere di salumi locali e formaggio, tortina salata e frittatina, abbondanti "sgabei", bocconcini di pasta fritta, piatto di verdure, sorprendente, e per finire dolce fatto in casa. Acqua, piacevolissimo rosso locale, caffè e amaro ! Impossibile chiedere di più. Favolosi i salumi locali, col lardo che si scioglie letteralmente in bocca. Prezzo invariato alla richiesta di un' altra porzione di sgabei e un quartino di frizzantino bianco. Servizio rapido e cordialissimo. Per concludere poi, l' acquisto delle maglietta del locale, che prende ispirazione dal rinomato locale di fama internazionale. Consigliatissimo ! Meglio prenotare.
