We recently visited this restaurant.
The owners are extremely kind and you can see that it is a family business.
• The location needs a refresh and perhaps a slightly more contemporary look.
• The service was a little slow, perhaps due to the fact that all the preparations were done at the moment, but the timing could definitely be improved.
• The menu has several typical choices, but perhaps this too should be slightly updated or expanded. As for the food we thought better, it vaguely reminded us of Sicily. Arancini are normal, but we would have liked them tastier. The breadings in general are good, but the fried food is not so light. The Sfincione with onions is recommended, pleasant. The first courses would be worth trying. The espresso cannoli is good
In conclusion, this historic venue certainly has potential which, with a few small adjustments, could certainly elevate it to the next step.

Super authentic Sicilian restaurant in the center. The chef personally comes to each table and makes recommendations and advises the guests. Unfortunately he only speaks broken English.
Really very good food, great service. A very friendly team that runs the store. We would eat here again in a heartbeat.
In my opinion, the price is perfectly fine.

Evening meal for 4 people on June 26, 2024.
Another great meeting with Sabino Cangialosi, he comes from Palermo, he is very talkative and we will let ourselves be guided in the choice of dishes.
A passionate artist totally committed to his culinary art, great meeting, beautiful Sicilian cuisine, a beautiful evening that’s good, it was our last evening in Sardinia.
Many thanks again Sabino, for this good time at Antica Hostaria.

The best parmigiana I have ever eaten! In a small authentic restaurant. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Plus, it’s inexpensive! Thank you for this beautiful moment!

Very nice restaurant with Sicilian dishes, which is nice to have on top of the Sardinian flavours. The Caponata and the Swordfish pasta are superb, as is the parfait semifreddo in the deserts. The owner and cook came at the table to explain the dishes in English to us. Very affordable pricing.

Unique and ultimate culinary experience in Sardinia! Family restaurant established for 30 years. Very friendly couple. Perfectly relaxed and welcoming ambiance. Colorful and cozy interior. The owner/chef is from Sicily and makes you feel as if you are a guest in his home. Gave detailed explanations of all dishes. Everything fresh and home-prepared. We were 5 people, 1 of whom was vegetarian. The chef listened carefully to our wishes. No effort was too much for him! He suggested making us both vegetarian and fish/meat versions of a festival of dishes: delicious arancini, pasta, cooked vegetables, panellini polenta snacks...etc etc. Ps Finally a restaurant with a simple carafe of simple tasty table wine. (No fancy expensive bottle of wine needed) And last but not least: low priced@@. The best and tastiest food during our stay in Sardinia....I wish everyone this experience.

It is a quaint restaurant with timeless furnishings. We had competent and friendly service from the chef himself. Despite the boss's broken English, we were able to communicate without having to resort to Google Translate. The food tastes excellent with good value for money. I would recommend ordering a starter and perhaps dessert after your meal, as you can't expect a huge portion of pasta with swordfish for €12. Starters/desserts/small drinks all cost €2.5, so they are very cheap.
Gladly again and recommended.
