After booking, we stopped at lunchtime for a refreshment including a drink and a platter with cheeses and cured meats typical of Calabrian cuisine/culture including crostini with nduja!
The owner, Fabio, a man of few words but kind and concrete, proved to be attentive to our needs.
The prices are more than affordable.
Overall, I recommend this place even if I can confirm or deny the positive impression we have now, only after having had dinner or lunch!

Spartan environment located on the edge of a small square in an area little affected by the enormous flow of Roman tourists. A stone's throw from the Umberto I Polyclinic, the Sapienza University and some ministerial bodies, in its simplicity it offers a captivating menu worthy of representing the Calabrian land. There are many specialties from appetizers to desserts. Personally I wanted to experience the Chef's whim, a surprise dish that you don't know what it is unless you order it and the Chef basically cooks whatever is in his head that day. It went quite well for me as I was delivered a plate of penne all'arrabbiata. The sauce is excellent, the pasta overcooks slightly (I prefer it al dente). Honestly, I would recommend it for those who don't have too much sophistication on their mind and like to eat well.

Beautiful experience, in the spirit of the most authentic Calabria... excellent interpretation of Calabrian cuisine... Fantastic desserts and succulent fish-based first courses... must try the swordfish and wild fennel linguine and strawberry mousse

Place found by chance which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise, quick aperitif with platter of Calabrian specialties and delicious beer, but the most important surprise was the owner Fabio, a fantastic and profound person, after only 10 minutes of conversation I felt like I had always known him, it will be an obligatory stop every time I find myself in these parts. Finalmente un ristorante dove la buona cucina viene esaltata in ogni dettaglio. Materie prime di altissima qualità e grande attenzione nella preparazione dei piatti. Prendersi il tempo per gustare ogni portata è un’esperienza che vale assolutamente la pena vivere. Non dimenticate di lasciare spazio per il vero tartufo di Pizzo, un must imperdibile.
Un’ultima, ma importante, nota: il titolare è di una gentilezza rara, discreto e altamente competente negli abbinamenti dei vini, rendendo il pasto ancora più piacevole.

In Pizzo Cslabro I fell in love with the “Pizzo truffle”. When I returned to Rome, I looked everywhere for it, without success, they are all bad copies. At the Calabrian Embassy, I finally found it. Special.
