Discovered thanks to TripAdvisor, this trattoria was a wonderful surprise. The atmosphere was warm and familiar, just as you'd expect from a Lucanian restaurant. We tried the cavatelli with black chickpeas and shrimp, the frizzoli with ragù and breadcrumbs, the buffalo mozzarella with cherry tomatoes, and the charcuterie board: everything was delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. The service was courteous and never intrusive. Excellent value for money.

Paccheri with cicadas, macaroni with ferretto, cod with bruschi peppers, all excellent. We would have liked to try the rest of the menu, but it would have been impossible for four of us. We'll be back on the return trip from Sicily to Milan. I forgot about the Altamura loaf and the berry cheesecake. For four of us, it was the best €75 we spent on our vacation. Excellent!

Traditional cuisine from neighboring towns, updated with a touch of flair and a few twists, partly based on the ingredients found at the market. The preparation is excellent, the flavor is excellent, and the service and presentation are almost impeccable. We'll definitely return! The prices seem appropriate for the quality of the food, as well as the hard work and dedication put into it by the owners and staff.

The best home-cooked food I've ever had at Basilica. The dishes are excellently cooked, traditional Lucanian food. The crunchy peppers are incredible. I'd love to eat here again.

An ideal place for a quick meal without sacrificing quality, both in service and food. Professional and helpful staff, and a friendly and welcoming owner. The fried flowers with mozzarella and anchovies are delicious, while the spaghetti with mussels and green beans is flavorful and plentiful. If you're passing through or staying in Policoro, it's definitely a must-try.

We decided to stop there on our road trip to have lunch. Arriving in front, we thought for a moment “what place did we end up to??” Because of work on the facade but we still gave it a try and entered the place which somehow looks like a house and a bit old fashioned.
And then, what a surprise! Food was delicious, staff very friendly, helpful, fair price and very good experience.
Basically, if you are looking for fresh, local and quality food, stop by without hesitating!
